How We Rank Champions in LoL

Crafting the best League of Legends tier list for Patch 26.3 demands solid data and real-world grind. This page is filled with data from multiple trustworthy stat sites, our team’s insights, and seasoned with some personal experience. For information to be useful for most players, I analyzed all rank brackets and paid even closer attention to Emerald+ accounts’ stats.

These are the sources of information and criteria for the LoL champion tier list:

• OP.GG collects such data as win rates, pick/ban stats, and matchup spreads from millions of solo queue games every day. A really solid site for checking what champs are meta in LoL daily - highly recommended by me.

• Lolalytics crunches player skill gaps via PBI index and high-elo mains' win deltas, revealing hidden gems that pop off when you master them. One may take Rengar, lose several matches in a row, and conclude: “This champion sucks!” Oh mate, ​wrong you are. That’s where Lolalytics lets us check pros’ performance to make the right decisions after. 

• Leagueofgraphs is yet another trusted site with graphs and statistics.​ I wouldn’t trust a tier list based on a single (though trusted) source. Would you?

• My 4-year experience. Diamond III is not something one should boast about, but hey, that took a lot of gameplay hours. Personal feel for snowball potential, teamfight impact, and those clutch sidelane plays are experience that helps me to create an objective LoL champ tier list.

• Key factors? Well, I trust high win rates and pick pressure, versatility vs counters, scaling into the late game, and many others. I also monitor what pros and OTP streamers say about recent changes to stay tuned.

Friendly reminder: Always play what clicks with your style. Mindlessly chasing LoL tier lists flops hard. Hotfixes or Patch 26.4 could flip S-Tiers to trash overnight, so double-check live stats and stay flexible.

Current LoL Meta Overview

It’s patch 26.3 now, and I’ve analyzed all recent changes to items and champions, along with overall metrics. Here are my complete LoL meta tier lists for every lane and brief descriptions for the most powerful picks.

Many new items were added and rebalanced across all recent 2026 patches. Some items for mages, some for AD assassins and bruisers, and even some mechanics like Crit Recalculation make several champions OP.

Top Lane Tier List

Top lane stays a 1v1 arena with rare junglers coming in to smite a cannon. Top tier list LoL picks bully lanes, split-push towers, and survive ganks. It’s really important to outplay your opponent here. Own your side or get dove.

S-Tier

Champs below are mostly universal and have different play styles. They’re strong, scalable, and twice as powerful when mastered. You definitely should give them a try - they may be nerfed one day!

• Zaahen has 52%+ WR Emerald+, pure bully. Amazing dueling potential, strong lane phase, and reliable late game make him the god tier LoL pick in patch 26.3. 

• Kayle abuses the new Dusk and Dawn so well that she is no longer considered to be a weak laner. At least she becomes strong much faster than before.

• Fiora has always been the best duelist with a high skill cap. Streamers like TwelveFiora prove that she destroys enemy laners and towers with ease this season.

• Irelia is so back! The Endless Hunger was added in patch 26.1, and she abuses this item ridiculously well. Start with BoTRK casually, then get Endless Hunger as your second or third item and destroy everyone.

• Rumble has always been an amazing toplane counterpick for most tanks and bruisers. Now he draws strength from buffed and new AP items.

A-Tier

Still solid, but rather situational or skill-demanding top laners LoL picks.

• Aatrox's passive was buffed in 26.3, which helps him scale better. He was and is a strong pick for most tanks and bruisers. May get counterpicked, but with enough resilience, he becomes a 1v9 machine.

• Gwen incinerates tanks and scales confidently while abusing buffed items. Yet, she became OP after 30 minutes of grinding, which is not quick at all. 

• Riven combos may help her win any teamfight. She’s got shields, movement speed, quick AOE stuns - everything a fighter needs. She was the best top laner in LoL patch 26.2 and got nerfed in 26.3. Still strong but not an S-Tier champ anymore.

• Ornn scales extremely decently but slowly, just like Gwen. He’s a good tank - neither other tanks nor bruisers can shred his armor during the lane phase. 

• Yasuo feels better than ever in 26.3. When Riot nerfs someone, they know they’re facing a strong champ. Yasuo has just lost a part of his Q damage potential, but guess what? He has a WR of more than 53% on E+, though he’s number one on the pick list.

B-Tier and Below

Champions from B and C tiers are still playable. Some, like Nasus, take too much time to scale and can easily be stomped by ganks and counterpicks. Others, like Illaoi or Olaf, are rather situational - they destroy all melee fighters but suffer from ranged spam.

D-Tier picks suffer a lot today, unfortunately. Do you remember the times when Ryze and other mages led LoL solo queue tier lists? Not now. It’s just not worth spending time mastering them today, as other picks will outplay champs like Yone with low effort.

Jungle Tier List

Jungle in 26.3 is all about early impact again: fast clears, brutal ganks, and abusing AD buffs before laners even crash their first wave. If your pick cannot fight for crabs, prios, and early drakes, you’ll feel useless really fast.​ My LoL jungle tier list lets you choose from the best options only - never wasting time on weak champs again

S-Tier

Champions below are those “I can solo-carry from jungle” picks. They clear fast, gank hard, and scale well enough to keep winning fights after 20 minutes.

• Viego feels much smoother to pilot in patch 26.3. He’s got a buff recently due to the new skin release. Powerful champ with high stats, snowball potential, and decent scaling.

• Kha'Zix loves the new Umbral Glaive and Bastionbreaker. Combined with his target Q, those items allow him to deal insane damage to isolated enemies. Invisibility, mobility, and high AD make him a perfect assassin for this season.

• Lee Sin is still the king of “skill diff” junglers. His early dueling and gank options are wild; Lethality builds are back now. Again, try Umbral Glaive builds with Firststrike or Electrocute; I’m sure you’ll like it.

• Briar remains a menace in low and mid ranks: brain-off clear, hyper-aggressive dives, and built-in sustain. As long as you respect her fear timings and don’t int under towers, she is a very solid jungle option.

• Xin Zhao brings that classic gank-focused style back: point-and-click CC, strong duels, and an ult that lets you dive and live. With AD-focused jungle changes, his early power spikes feel even nastier now.

A-Tier

These champions are far from being the best LoL junglers. They are still very strong, but a bit more situational or team-dependent than the monsters above.

• Zaahen in the jungle has a solid win rate and feels great when you get a lead. He has just been buffed and got jungle camps’ damage increase. If you enjoy bruiser fighters, he’s an easy recommendation.​

• Diana farms incredibly fast and still offers some of the best AP engage in the role, but 26.3 AP items’ nerfs lowered her potential a bit. She was the most broken Dusk and Dawn abuser, and that’s now fixed. 

• Volibear is another champ who liked Dusk and Dawn a lot. Still, he’s a truly versatile jungler who can be built with both AD and AP items, be tanky or deadly.

• Aatrox jungle isn’t as popular, but AD plus his passive buffs allow him to rule this role. If you like his top lane playstyle and your team needs more frontline with high damage, jungle Aatrox can absolutely work.

• Vi is the “press R to carry” champ. Point-and-click lockdown, reliable ganks, and strong synergy with pick comps keep her relevant.

B-Tier and Below

I’d lie if I said that Rengar, Nidalee, or Elise are generally weak, but they need SO much practice to compete with others in the Emerald lobby. Everyone should try them and decide whether they like that playstyle before spending hundreds of hours on training. I love Rengar and played 30 games in a row, but my performance still sucks. Picks like Olaf or Karthus are extremely situational. Skarner and other D-Tier champs have to wait for some target buffs to become reliable. 

Mid Lane Tier List

My LoL mid tier list favors mages and assassins with burst damage and high mobility. AP items’ buffs let midlaners destroy their opponents or push heavily and roam freely.​ Midlane is the preferred role for those who want to carry the game. ​Play these to snowball games your way.

S-Tier

• Akali is truly the best mid LoL pick today. She shreds everyone with Hextech Gunblade synergy - whether you’re a poor ADC or a well-fed jungle bruiser. W invisibility plus E movement potential make her a deadly assassin. Patch 26.3 item buffs keep her oneshotting ADCs no sweat. Squishy enemy in sight? Oneshot them.

• Ahri is a really strong pick today. Her W cooldown cut pumps Fox-Fire burst; charm into Q-E combo locks kills. Magic items buff from 26.1 and later patches make her skills even stronger. Add her post-6 roaming potential and boom - an ideal midlaner, just for you.

• Yasuo has already been mentioned on the top tier list. Yet, he performs even better on midlane, facing squishy casters or assassins. 

• Syndra has always been an ideal anti-squish/assassin/ranged/mage/whatsoever pick, and now AP items constantly get buffs. Her skillset of extreme late-scaling oneshot potential, ranged stun, and a cannonball-shooting ability make Syndra one of the strongest midlaners. She’s quite simple to master though. Times easier than mastering Yasuo (I didn’t manage to handle that).

A-Tier

Champions listed below are strong but not strong enough to be supreme. Still, if you play them a lot, you may significantly boost your rank just as easily as with champs from S-Tier.

• Vel'Koz is a Rising star, a solid A-Tier champ. Azzapp (a popular Vel’Koz OTP streamer) showed this hidden gem to the world and killed pro-players with ease. Pro scene is a whole different game, I agree, but AP item buffs let us exploit Vel’Koz’s skillset with zero effort. 

• Akshan is my personal favorite. He’s a strong pick in patch 26.3. Though Riot did not introduce any buffs or nerfs for him directly, new AD items like the reworked Umbral Glaive suit him perfectly. Feel free to experiment: enthusiasts from Mobafire even build full AP Akshan (and sometimes they even win)

• Veigar’s success can be summed up in one word: Actualizer. This item was introduced this winter and appears to be designed for Veigar only. Press one button to get AP damage multiplier, then execute the legendary Q-W-E-R combo. Despite having such an easy way to success, he’s a scaling mage with a shop full of buffed magic items.

• Swain is an AP scaling beast. He’s highly versatile, as one may build him as a tank, a bruiser, or a mage. OTPs swear by his midgame teamfight monster mode, stacking souls to carry sidelanes and ult through the carry. Though he can be caited or nailed to the floor versus high cc teams late game. But you’re definitely going to snowball with his insane mana pool and annoying poke, then 1v9.

• Zoe. I guess you’ve seen Zoe OTPs and their performance. She’s a mage, she’s got an extreme skill cap, and so many tricks to master. I’d lie if I said she’s an easy-to-play champ. But hey, we’re talking about strong picks, right? Well, she’s strong. Give her a try (in a practice tool first). Who knows, maybe you’ll spend the next hundreds of hours mastering her combos and come back here as a challenger.

• Naafiri is a strong laner, sleek roamer, and deadly assassin. There’s not much to speculate on: AD champs haven’t received much attention recently. She was not thrown out of the game, nor was she heavily nerfed (shoutout to Ezreal). Check some guides with animation skips and give her a try.

• Fizz got a huge buff… Wait, he did not actually. Still, AP items did, and that’s why he feels much better.

B-Tier and Below

Champions like Varus, Diana, Ekko, Talon, Kassadin, Viktor, Aurelion Sol, Smolder, Mel, Yone, Vladimir, Tristana, sit here. Most of them are far from useless, but they require too much patience or a perfect setup. Patch 26.3 is a harsh environment for becoming pentakill machines, in most cases. Dive-heavy meta rules today.​ Scalers like Viktor and Kassadin spend the whole game under the turret trying to farm minions. Meanwhile, enemy Katarina pushes the wave and roams wherever she wants. 

Situational gems shine narrow, like Smolder, who feasts into Malzahar's voidlings but flops elsewhere (other than botlane, of course). Champs like AP Varus, Diana, or Ekko suffered much from the 26.3 Dusk and Dawn nerf. Hope mainers will invent some new game-breaking item builds to boost their winrate.

ADC Tier List

Botlane turns into chaos with enchanters invading this part of the map. Best ad carry LoL picks survive skirmishes, spike fast, and delete teams. Patch 26.3 crit buffs make these monsters. Carry hard or feed trying. 

S-Tier

• Veigar came to botlane to rule and laugh. Hit the wave, hit opponents with Q or E, and stack infinitely. Ta-dah - you’re an ideal botlaner with 57% WR on Emerald and higher. Good job, Riot!

• Syndra is here for the same reason - be AP, scale, and spam skills into your poor opponent. As easy as that, just try it.

• Swain is another caster at botlane who pokes you every three seconds while farming relentlessly and stacking his passive.

• Jinx is a classic hypercarry. Patch 26.1 crit buffs made her much stronger. She builds old items with new stats and scales into lategame extremely fast. Nominally, she’s the best LoL ad carry now, as mages above are not technically AD carries.

• Twitch likes crits as well, though he may go full AP with Nashor’s Tooth first. A strong pick with a despicable playstile.

A-Tier

Strong but not godlike: climb with practice, just like S-Tier.

• Caitlyn loves crit. Try building Stormrazor into Infinity Edge - speed & crit combo shreds tanks and oneshots squishes.

• Miss Fortune with Firststrike rune plays really smoothly. Buy Bloodthirster first to become unkillable during the laning phase. Or, try the reworked Essence Reaver for infinite mana.

• Kai'Sa suffered with Dusk and Dawn nerf, but is still a good botlane choice. 

• Varus with AP items became a beast in 26.2 and suffered much from 26.3 nerfs. Still, a pretty strong variant with Nashor’s or AD lethality build.

• Lucian destroys every other laner at level 2 spike and builds crits. He may fall off in the late game though, so try to snowball and win the midgame.

B-Tier and Below

That’s the place where Zeri, Ezreal, Senna, Kog'Maw, Kalista, Smolder, Aphelios, and Draven hang out now. They’re still playable, but you’ll mostly need a gank or two to become self-dependent.

Champs like Smolder suffer from slow scaling; others like Kalista are just weaker than 95% of other champions. Draven used to be a lane bully and even enjoyed recent crit buffs, but that’s not enough. Reaching a 50% WR threshold is these guys’ dream. Champions like these should not be placed in lol ranked tier lists; however, for me, Smolder is an extremely comfortable ADC.

Support Tier List

Supports play an important role in their ADC’s success. Some of them really enjoy buffs from new items, while others keep stomping opponents as they have always done. Here is my ultimate LoL support tier list with the best sups to main in Season 26.

S-Tier

Well, these champions are the gold standard for most match-ups. Taking one of these is never a bad option.

• Sona is the best LoL support today. She gains much more profit from abusing the new Whispering Circlet than other champions. In Season 26, she has an almost infinite mana pool, great damage, and healing. She’s a universal pick with various builds from healing-oriented to full AP ones.

• Braum loves Bandlepipes. This is yet another item added in this season. Braum was and is a strong laner in most picks, so he becomes a beast using slightly unbalanced items.

• Nami’s skillset is preferred by many pro AD carries. She heals, stuns, and empowers with enviable efficiency. No buffs, no nerfs. Just ready to pick in the ranked queue.

• Nautilus and his wonderful Q hook now get all speed buffs from the new Bandlepipes. There’s no way his opponents can run away from Naut or dodge target R ability. Still, avoid picking him against teams with a lot of CC.

• Janna is another pro-play favorite. A champ with enough early poke to stomp enemies before they even hit level 3. She was a broken Dusk abuser - now fixed, but she still flies high.

A-Tier

Very strong peelers, but need more setup or team synergy than S-monsters.

• Milio is a basic support with some shields, some heal, and anti-engage. Strong lane, useful skillset, and even some secret interactions (like buying Serpent’s Fang).

• Leona’s CC is just insane. Her stats are not meta nowadays, but point-click stuns can’t be underestimated. Be careful against CC teams or supports like Zyra.

• Bard needs some practice for sure, but his skill set is truly diversified. 

• Zilean is just as useful as Bard. Much speed, control, and even XP boost for his teammates. What matters most is his R. Let this Guardian-Angel Grandpa save some lives and win teamfights.

• Soraka is known for her constant healing and unique utility. A strong option for teams full of frontlane to let them live and protect you.

B-Tier and Below

As I’ve already mentioned, some champions can’t win every matchup blindly. Poppy is an extremely good option against teams with lots of dashes, but her overall performance is pretty poor in Season 26. This is applicable to other champs. Mel got nerfed recently, and her W won’t negate incoming damage anymore. Miss Fortune and Ashe are fun-to-play supports but with low game impact, etc.
