How the Twilight Ascension Event Works

The idea of the Twilight Ascension event is simple: get the world quests done, take down elites in Highlands, earn Insignia, and spend it at vendors on limited-time rewards. The main thing you’re going to be doing is completing world quests tied to fighting the cultist: You’ll free trapped elemental spirits, sabotage and destroy cultist camps, help elves, and kill old-gods themed Rares. All in all, it’s a quick-to-complete event that you can clear in a couple of minutes of play per day, grab the rewards, and forget about it.

Starting the Event

WoW Twilight Ascension The Cult Within

Event Currency: Twilight’s Blade Insignia

This is the core event token you earn. You get it by:

  • Completing World Quests that refresh throughout the day, for these, you’ll get 10 Insignias per quest.

  • Killing Rare Elites that spawn in a rotation around the zone awards you with 1 Insignia.

  • Finishing weekly event quests that pay out a whopping 40 insignias.

The faster you gather Insignia, the more rewards you can claim, so try not to skip on any of the dailies and weeklies. You can get all of the cosmetics in a couple of weeks, but if you want to gear up your alts, this event can keep you occupied up until the addon release. Twilight Ascension Event Rewards

There are two main vendors in the event's elven hub. One focuses on cosmetics and collectibles, the other sells catch-up gear useful for alts or players behind on item level. Here are all of the Twilight Ascension event rewards:

Mount Rewards

Mounts are among the most exciting and sought-after rewards of the event. You can unlock a neat mechsuit akin to the one released back in Legion and a beautiful unique Skyrazor mount for a mere 100 Insignias.

  • Retrained Skyrazor – A mount that can be purchased directly from the cosmetic vendor for Insignia.

  • Light-Forged Mechsuit – An achievement mount tied to the Two Minutes to Midnight feat of strength. This requires slaying all 18 elite world spawns, including the one triggered by the special void event.

These mounts stand out visually and show off your dedication to the event while it lasted.

Battle Pets

Battle pet collectors will also get something nice - there are three exciting pet rewards in this event. Each of these can be purchased from the merchant using the insignias.

Transmogrification Rewards

WoW Twilight Ascension Transmogrification Rewards

The event also offers cool transmog WoW Midnight pre-patch event rewards:

  • Well-Worn Cultist’s Attire – A full void worshipper armor appearance set.

  • Weathered Hammer Armaments – An elder gods-themed weapon bundle that includes a variety of weapon skins from axes to ritual knives.

Housing Decor

Beyond mounts and transmogs, the Twilight Ascension event adds themed decoration for newly introduced player housing:

  • Elven Chair

  • Blood Elven Candelabra

  • Winged Chaise

These pieces bring the fresh look of Blood Elf aesthetics into your home. Which is especially appreciated when there are not that many items you can currently furnish your home with.

Catch-Up Gear

For players who want to improve alt gear or simply fill missing item slots, an armour merchant sells catch-up armour:

  • Item level starts at 121 and can be upgraded all the way to 144. Not only can you get these armor pieces from the Vendor, but you can also get them as a random Rare mob drop.

  • These pieces match current dungeon and event gear trends and help you stay relevant before hitting the Midnight expansion content.

It’s a perfect way to gear up your alts that are behind in item level, but I would not recommend prioritizing getting it. You’d be better off getting the limited cosmetics first.

Achievements and Extra Rewards

Besides the cosmetics, the event also includes challenge-based achievements, with one of them netting you a valuable mount reward:

  • Crunching for Cultists – A feat of strength tied to winning the tic-tac-toe games at the hub.

  • Two Minutes to Midnight – Earn this by defeating all rare elites in the event rotation. This unlocks the Light-Forged Mechsuit mount and a title.

These add depth to the event and give collectors and completionists meaningful goals.

How to Get Two Minutes to Midnight Achievement

WoW Two Minutes to Midnight Achievement

Rare enemies are a core part of the Twilight Ascension pre-patch event. In order to get the Two Minutes to Midnight Achievement, you’ll have to defeat all 18 possible spawns.

17 of them are easy to kill just by doing the world quests, and then there’s one that is tricky. At the top of every hour, a special sub-event occurs during active rare events. An Ephemeral Void manifests at cultist camps and triggers a zone-wide alert announcing its presence in the Highland Forest.

During this event, players must find and destroy Ephemera scattered throughout the cultist camps. Clearing enough of them summons Voice of the Eclipse, a unique rare that only appears during this sub-event, and which you’ll take down for the Two Minutes to Midnight achievement. Be quick to tag it since everyone will be trying to kill it ASAP.
