Clash of Clans Hero Equipment Tier List TL;DR

  • Eternal Tome, Electro Boots, Spiky Ball, Action Figure, and Dark Orb are the safest targets for upgrades for the majority of players.

  • Grand Warden has the strongest overall equipment pool, with Eternal Tome, Fireball, and Rage Gem all being viable.

  • Most older puppet-style equipment has fallen out of the meta because the value is too low compared to newer options.

CoC Hero Equipment Tier List

Clash of Clans Equipment Tier List

The current CoC equipment meta looks like this. The main trend is that the older the gear is, the weaker its effect, but there are some exceptions:

S-Tier Explained

Clash of Clans Equipment Tier List S Tier

Spiky Ball (Barbarian King)

I think Spiky Ball is the best Barbarian King equipment right now. It works when the King is clearing the outside, it works when he dives into the base, and it still provides tons of value late in the attack when you need cleanup. It is powerful, flexible, and easy to use, and stats reflect it in full - most players use this item.

Earthquake Boots (Barbarian King)

Earthquake Boots are one of the most useful all-purpose King tools. They open up walls, damage defensive buildings, activate traps, and pair extremely well with Spiky Ball - they essentially go hand in hand.

Snake Bracelet (Barbarian King)

Snake Bracelet gives the King a huge survivability boost, especially when you attack from the edge of the base instead of diving straight into the core. The spawned snakes tank insane amounts of damage, keeping your hero safe. You've got lots of options on what to pair it with; you either go for a straightforward Spiky Ball build or use Giant Gauntlet to get the most out of your Barb King’s increased survivability.

Action Figure (Archer Queen)

Action Figure is the most reliable Queen equipment in the game. The giant it spawns gives her a beefy tank, buying her lots of time, and lets her keep dealing damage in spots where she would usually get overwhelmed by the defenses.

Giant Arrow (Archer Queen)

Giant Arrow remains one of the best utility pieces in the whole game. It can snipe Air Defenses, hit Sweepers, trigger Invisibility Towers, and cut a funnel before the main attack even begins.

Eternal Tome (Grand Warden)

Eternal Tome is still the most important Grand Warden equipment - having an immunity button is invaluable.

Fireball (Grand Warden)

Fireball is one of the strongest buttons you can press in the game, especially when used properly. It can delete a whole section of the base or create pathing before the main push. Takes more planning than most equipment, but the payoff is massive.

Rage Gem (Grand Warden)

Rage Gem is elite because the value never really stops. It boosts the damage of your units, speeding up the push significantly, and also improves the output of healers supporting your army and Warden himself.

Electro Boots (Royal Champion)

Electro Boots are still the best Royal Champion equipment by far. The aura clears skeletons, chips nearby defenses, and passive healing keeps her alive for much longer than most gear could.

Dark Orb (Minion Prince)

Dark Orb is the most complete Minion Prince equipment in the game - even though his other pieces are quite good, too. It helps in nullifying defensives, supporting your entire push, and works in basically every setup. It is easy to fit into your armies and hard to replace.

A-Tier Explained

Clash of Clans Equipment Tier List A Tier

Giant Gauntlet (Barbarian King)

Giant Gauntlet is still a strong Epic, especially when the King is sent into a tight section of the base where lots of buildings are placed nearby - it’ll crash everything in seconds. I don't think it deserves an S-Tier because it’s kind of situational and requires you to run snakes to keep your King alive.

Stick Horse (Barbarian King)

Stick Horse has a strong niche value if you like dive-style comps that prefer to ignore non-essential structures. I think it’s fun to play, and it is a good and overall valuable tool, but it requires more brainpower investments to perform at the level of S-Tier equipment.

Healer Puppet (Archer Queen)

Healer Puppet is mainly strong in dragon attacks, where the Queen is used as a flanker and requires steady support. Outside that role, stronger Queen options are usually preferred.

Magic Mirror (Archer Queen)

Magic Mirror gives some of the best burst damage in Clash of Clans. Three Queens can erase stacked defenses, force through heavy sections, and create a funnel very quickly. If you want your Queen to rip through a compartment and keep moving with a strong ground push, this is one of the best tools possible.

Healing Tome (Grand Warden)

Healing Tome is excellent support equipment, especially in dragon attacks and safer push setups. It gives the army more survivability and can also save your healers that would otherwise die to traps. It is just a little less defining than the Warden’s top three pieces, and, besides, you already run lots of healing if you play Warden.

Rocket Spear (Royal Champion)

Rocket Spear gives the Royal Champion great control. It can snipe defenses around the perimeter, help in air attacks by removing Air Defenses, and stop her from pushing headfirst ahead of the units you’d rather tank hits with. That versatile mix of damage and control makes it one of her best options.

Frost Flake (Royal Champion)

Frost Flake is a very strong support piece - it can freeze dangerous areas at the back end of the base and protect not just the Royal Champion but the rest of the push as well. The only reason it stays in A-Tier is that timing matters a lot with this item - and it may never come in some games.

Dark Crown (Minion Prince)

Dark Crown has a high power ceiling and can become very strong in setups that feed into it properly. In dragon attacks that usually turn into a longer push, it can scale into a major source of damage. It is powerful, but it depends more on the overall attack shell than Dark Orb does; still, I think it’s super viable.

Meteor Staff (Minion Prince)

Meteor Staff is excellent in modern dragon attacks because it starts creating space right away. It helps remove pressure from your Prince and supports your army without extra setup steps. That makes it a very safe A-Tier choice in my eyes.

Fire Heart (Dragon Duke)

Fire Heart is a good piece of equipment, improving your Dragon’s survivability with health regeneration and adding an explosion on death effect to him. His playstyle already revolves around diving somewhere deep alone, so both effects are perfectly fitting.

B-Tier Explained

Clash of Clans Equipment Tier List B Tier

Rage Vial (Barbarian King)

Rage Vial still has one good job. It works well with the Giant Gauntlet when you want the King to dive into a compact area and smash through it fast. Outside that combo, it feels much more limited than the better King options - and in higher TH levels, your giant King will get demolished extra quickly using this item, sometimes even with proper healing support.

Frozen Arrow (Archer Queen)

Frozen Arrow is still decent in Queen Charges and can be useful at lower Town Hall levels. Slowing defenses can make a charge smoother and easier to control - the problem is that modern Queen gear offers much more direct pressure.

Invisibility Vial (Archer Queen)

Invisibility Vial used to feel like the classic Queen option, but it has been pushed aside by equipment that gives safety plus more damage. It still works in some niche setups, but it no longer feels like a top-end choice.

Heroic Torch (Grand Warden)

Heroic Torch can produce strong results, but it also creates a risk of messing up pathing. That makes it useful in specific setups, but not a safe default pick, and with how good other Warden items are, it’s extremely hard for me to justify using it.

Life Gem (Grand Warden)

Life Gem can still work in certain armies, but it has a very niche use case for most players. The Warden has so many stronger, more impactful options that this piece usually ends up getting squeezed out. It is not bad, just hard to justify over the best gear.

Haste Vial (Royal Champion)

Haste Vial is mainly useful in longer Royal Champion dive setups. If she is about to get to the dangerous area and burn through heavy defenses, this can get your Champion through it. It is solid in that role, but too specialized to rank higher in the list.

Seeking Shield (Royal Champion)

Seeking Shield still does respectable damage despite being released quite a long time ago, and can help with cleanup or targeted picks on the back end. The issue is that newer RC equipment does more for the attack overall. I think it’s serviceable, but clearly outclassed.

Hog Rider Puppet (Royal Champion)

Hog Rider Puppet used to have some save potential because of the short invisibility and the extra hogs moving in front. In the current splash-heavy meta, those hogs disappear too fast. That makes the value much less reliable than it used to be.

Metal Pants (Minion Prince)

Metal Pants have a clear niche. They are useful when the Prince is going solo into one area and needs protection from Seeking Air Mines. That pretty niche use case can be something to run Pants for, but it’s not nearly enough to compete with other picks.

Henchman Puppet (Minion Prince)

Henchman Puppet is a solid, easy-to-use piece of equipment. The summoned units tank damage and help the Prince move more safely through the base. The only issue is the ceiling - I can imagine this thing being used in higher THs.

Noble Iron (Minion Prince)

Noble Iron is the definition of niche. In the right setup, it can still do useful work and support a safer snipe-style approach. The reason it stays in B-Tier is that most army strategies will get much more value out of more flexible and more aggressive Prince equipment.

Flame Blower (Dragon Duke)

I mean, it’s a Baby Dragon’s attack, just stronger. It's good, but not good enough compared to other equipment pieces you may use.

Stun Blaster (Dragon Duke)

Stun Blaster is a decent item, both dealing damage around the Duke and stunning defensives - both troops and buildings. But it’s B-Tier max, we got plenty more great options in higher tiers.

C-Tier Explained

Clash of Clans Equipment Tier List C Tier

Vampstache (Barbarian King)

Vampstache adds survivability, but the impact is too low in modern high-level attacks. If you want the King to live longer, there are simply better ways to do it. That leaves this as a low-impact option that struggles to justify its slot.

Barbarian Puppet (Barbarian King)

Barbarian Puppet is just outdated now. The summoned Barbarians get removed in a blink of an eye by splash damage and do not change the fight in any meaningful way.

Archer Puppet (Archer Queen)

Archer Puppet has the same problem as Barb’s puppet. The Archers die too fast and rarely create real value against modern defenses, even on mid-level THs.

Lavaloon Puppet (Grand Warden)

Running Lavaloon Puppet sounds fun to me, but the Warden slots are so tight with how great his other options are. You give up much stronger and more reliable equipment to use it, which makes it a poor trade-off in serious attacks.

Royal Gem (Royal Champion)

Royal Gem simply does not create enough impact. The healing is too weak compared to the value you get from stronger Royal Champion equipment. In a slot with so many better options, this ends up at the bottom.
