Chapter 1

Season 1
I can’t rank C1S1 lower than the A-Tier - it was the season that started it all, and where the core principles that still work were first introduced. Before that, Fortnite was really struggling to pull any significant player numbers in, and its Battle Royale came in clutch and turned everything upside down. I remember watching the first ever Fortnite trailer on TV back in 2011, thinking like “Yeah, that a neat idea for a game”, but I would never imagine the heights it would achieve when the Battle Royale was released.
Season 2
Season 2 should be A-Tier IMO cos it expanded on the original BR concept without breaking anything (maybe because there was nothing to break at the time). That’s the season when we first got iconic POIs like Tilted Towers, Shifty Shafts, Snobby Shores, Haunted Hills, and Junk Junction, that are still fan-favorites in OG and Reload.
It also introduced the Battle Pass(which was a pretty new concept at the time) and Daily Challenges, which really solidified the game, making it more long-term and live-service oriented.
Season 3
Season 3 is iconic in its own right. This was the season where major celebrities would catch up on the hype, and fortnite seemingly was everywhere on the net. The splash was so huge that Epic would sign several incredibly impactful crossover deals, and we would see the Marvel crossover the next season, which was huge. I don’t think this big of a collab was ever done before that. where progression is harder with Weekly Challenges, Back Blings, and Contrails.
This season was a major breakthrough for the game, so there’s no way I can rank it lower than S-tier. Not only did it go viral, but the in-game mechanics and gameplay got better and better - double pumping was introduced, the loot pool was great, and players got way better than in S1 and 2, so the game would start to feel greater than ever.
Season 4
Season 4 is also an S-Tier material and the one that really made the game go in the crossover direction that it did. For me, personally, one of the biggest draws of the game is the fact that you can play as characters from so many universes, do wild stuff like mix the backblings and pickaxes from different franchises, and collect a bunch of favorite characters from a bunch of IPs.
S4 was a full-blown Marvel season, bringing in iconic characters and their abilities to play with. We got an LTM where we would fight Thanos and his goons, and these levels of collab significance were never seen before.
Season 5
I rank S5 as a B-Tier season, but I’m sure there are lots of players who’ll disagree because this was the season where competitive events like Pro Aim would be released, which is, of course, a huge part of the game for lots and lots of people.
Season 6
Season 6 goes in a C-Tier for me. It lasted 70 days, which is on the longer side, and there was nothing of significance released besides the POIs and vehicles. But people still loved the game and were not bored with it, so the player counts did not dip significantly.
Season 7
Season 7 belongs in a B-Tier. While it introduced the first-ever Winterfest and snowy POIs i personally love, the addition of planes and mythic swords really ruined the fun for many players; they felt too out of place. The Ice King event was lame, and IDK why they would bring the character back after all these years in Chapter 7.
Season 8
Season 8 is an A-Tier for me. We got a second part of the Avengers collab, Flint-Knock and Ballers, which are two items I love to use to this day. Added POIs were vibrant and interesting, we got treasure maps to play with, and the Battle Pass skins were decently good.
Season 9
Season 9 lands in a B-Tier, and at the time, it was the first season when “Fortnite is dead” claims started to appear on YouTube and Reddit. Player count dropped significantly, and there was nothing outstanding to like about the season - outside of the World Cup, that is. For me, the highlights of the seasons were the addition of the Combat Shotgun and Tactical Assault Rifle, although not many players liked them as much as I did.
Season X
Season X goes in the B-Tier. Battle Pass was pretty good with lots of remixed sought-after skins from the previous seasons. We had a bunch of insane collabs like Borderlands POI and Gotham City, but the thing that ruined it all was Mechs. They ruined the game’s meta for an entire season, and sadly, the mistake of adding stuff like mechs and planes was not recognized and would be repeated in later seasons.
Chapter 2
Season 1
Chapter 2, Season 1 lands in C-Tier because it lasted a very long 128 days, and the changes it would introduce were very questionable and not fun overall, leaning towards the OG game feel with no movement. This led to many players quitting the game completely - even the battle pass was meh, and the only two good things about the season were the Star Wars collab and the Winterfest event.
Season 2
Chapter 2 Season 2 is one of the most beloved seasons, and an instant S-Tier pick for me. After the horrendous S1, this one was great - we got Heists, iconic Mythics like Midas’ Drum Gun, and a great Battle Pass skins from which are constantly getting remixed to this day. Travis' event happened this season, too, so even though the season was insanely long, at 118 days, it was loved based on the community rankings, and people didn’t mind playing it longer.
Season 3
Chapter 2 Season 3 is solid A-Tier. It only lasted 71 days, but it made that time count by flooding the island and adding a bunch of new POIs, while also rolling out cars and the Charge Shotgun meta.
Season 4
Chapter 2 Season 4 is right there in terms of goatedness with the C2S2. There was a full-blown Marvel Battle Pass, lots of iconic Marvel Mythics, and an insane Galactus invet to top it all up. The player count numbers went through the roof this season, so there’s no way it’s not an S-Tier.
Season 5
Chapter 2 Season 5 sits in the B-Tier for me. Some players would rank it even lower, but it’s because of the fact that it came right after Fortnite’s best seasons ever. The Gold system was added this season, as well as a bunch of weapons. The Battle Pass was great with Mandalorian in it, and content was pumped weekly. Besides that, shop skins were great too during that time, so I don’t think that this season is as bad as people perceive it to be.
Season 6
Chapter 2 Season 6 belongs in D-Tier. It had The Spire, Boney Burbs, Colossal Crops, and Primal Pond POIs, and built its whole identity around crafting weapons and fighting wildlife. Battle Pass was good IMO, and collab shop skins were great, but imbalanced crafted weapons ruined the season for lots of players.
Season 7
Chapter 2 Season 7 is B-Tier. It’s considered to be better than S6, but I didn’t care about the whole alien story at all, and the season just flew by me without leaving much of an impression. The best thing about the season was the skins, and if you didn’t care about skins or story, you’d feel like this season is super mediocre.
Season 8
Chapter 2: Season 8 ends up in C-Tier. The battle pass was fire, but besides that, there was nothing to do - the map did not change much, the weapons were out of place and weak, and the new POIs were straight up lame and unplayable. Even the Naruto collab was a flop, with one of the most beloved franchises ever not receiving any mythics.
Chapter 3

Season 1
Chapter 3 Season 1 is an S-Tier for me. Battle pass was goated, loot pool got refreshed, and we even got sliding. Fortnite really got it together with this one and bounced back after horrendous C2 S8 - player and viewership counts were insanely high.
Season 2
Chapter 3 Season 2 is B-Tier. The best thing it did was the Zero Build launch and the addition of mantling and sprinting, but besides that, there’s not much to talk about. I did not care much about the story, so it’s not something I’d increase the rankings for, but I heard that many players liked it.
Season 3
Chapter 3 Season 3 lands in C-Tier, even though I liked it a lot and have fond memories of it. Battle Pass was great, but for most players, the map and gameplay overall didn't hit. The main reason I like the season is that my friends got interested in playing Zero Build specifically, so I had a blast playing with them this season.
Season 4
Chapter 3 Season 4 is notorious for being bad, so D-Tier it is. The main thing I loved about it was Fortnitemares and Battle Pass, but that’s it. The whole Chrome gimmick was almost completely useless and not too fun to play around with, so many players ignored it completely.
Chapter 4
Season 1
Chapter 4 Season 1 goes in B-Tier, even though it did a lot of things right. We got a visual rehaul, fun augments, a new weapon, and a new map, and all of these things were great in my experience. The two things that ruined the rankings for this season were bugs and Redeye’s insane domination over meta, but besides that, I remember this season as one of the best for the game.
Season 2
Chapter 4 Season 2 also lands in B-Tier. The neon biome and mobility items were excellent, but I think the season’s strongest qualities were strictly visual, and gameplay-wise, there was nothing to remember it for. I mean, it was fun due to so many movement items being available, but this created broken gameplay where everyone would zap around too much for my liking.
Season 3
Chapter 4 Season 3 is D-Tier for me. Visually, it was great - the jungle map felt fresh and packed with mechanics, but the new weapons were not that hot. Many players hate this season, and I can’t name the reasons why they’re wrong.
Season 4
Chapter 4 Season 4 is A-Tier. Battle Pass was clean, map got new beautiful POIs with Eclipsed Estate, Relentless Retreat, and Sanguine Suites, all built around heist vaults. Fortnitemares loot like the Wood Stake Shotgun and Thorne’s Vampiric Blade got a warm welcome, and the season was just too short and too packed with good content to become hated.
Season OG
Chapter 4 Season OG is S-Tier; it was super over with the players. It lasted only 30 days, and the player base was starving for OG mechanics, map, and skins. OG release saw lots of players coming back to the game, including the largest streamers, and the overall player count was something around 50 million.
Chapter 5

Season 1
Chapter 5 Season 1 is S-Tier. It lasted 96 days, launched the Helios island, added the moving Train and Medallions, revamped UI and animations, and introduced modular weapons around the Society versus Underground conflict. Modular weapons were something I loved about the season, and, of course, we got ripped Peter Griffin as a skin.
Fortnite Lego, Racing, and Festival were also added this season, and Festival specifically is something I have been playing regularly for years now.
Season 2
Chapter 5 Season 2 lands in B-Tier. The entire season was themed around ancient Greek gods, and the playerbase loved it - POIs, skins, and mythics were truly great. For some reason, the season feels underinvested; it had such great potential, but the amount of released content was not that high as some of the greatest seasons.
Season 3
Chapter 5, Season 3 goes in D-Tier. While it was fun to ride around in the Mad Max-esque cars in the first couple of days, it quickly became boring, and using the car was mandatory since they were super OP. Every game felt the same because of it, and lots of players quit.
Season 4
Chapter 5 Season 4 stays in B-Tier. It was Marvel-themed, so it added Castle Doom, Doomstadt, Doom’s Courtyard, and The Raft, and brought boss medallions around Doom and Emma Frost. The POI work was strong, but the rest of the stuff felt underbaked and not as packed with content as other Marvel seasons.
Remix
Chapter 5 Remix mini season belongs in A-Tier. It lasted only 29 days, brought back the Chapter 2 island and rotated weekly artist-themed remixes through spots like The Doggpound, the Grotto, and Shark Island, while also rotating old Chapter 2 loot like Charge Shotguns, Tactical SMGs, and Rapid Fire SMGs.
The reception was great, and I found it impossible to dislike the content that was put out. The main thing I don’t like about mini seasons is the fact that they end so quickly; it really felt like there were many more to explore and experience there.
Chapter 6

Season 1
Chapter 6 Season 1 lands in B-Tier. It lasted 82 days, launched Japan-themed Oninoshima with places like Demon's Dojo, Magic Mosses, Masked Meadows, Nightshift Forest, Seaport City, and Shogun’s Solitude, and rolled out new great movement systems like wall running, rolling, and wall jumping. This season felt like it was a healthy reset with real system depth, but even the Godzilla event felt underwhelming, just not enough content pumped.
Season 2
Chapter 6 Season 2 stays in B-Tier. It was another heist-themed season that added Crime City, Lonewolf Lair, Outlaw Oasis, and Shiny Shafts, and built its identity around Black Markets and new guns like the Collateral Damage Assault Rifle. It wasn’t bad, just not memorable enough after all the previous heist-themed seasons.
Mini Season 1
Chapter 6 Mini Season 1 goes in A-Tier for me, although it was hated by many. It lasted 36 days, added Star Wars POIs like First Order Base, Resistance Base, Outpost Enclave, and Vader Samurai’s Solitude, and filled the loot pool with blasters like the A280-CFE, DC-15 Heavy Blaster Rifle, and later WESTAR-34 pistols. I guess the reason players didn’t like it is that it felt like a full-blown Star Wars game at this point; there was little left of Fortnite.
Season 3
Chapter 6 Season 3 lands in C-Tier. It lasted just 61 days and was themed around demons and teen superheroes. While I thought the new items were cool, especially Max Payne-like dual pistols that froze you mid-air, the season and specifically its loot pool were not liked much by most players. Comparison is the killer of joy, and there are just so many great seasons to compare the current one to.
Season 4
Chapter 6, Season 4, also lands in C-Tier. It was all about OXR with bug-war locations like O.X.R. HQ, Ranger’s Ruin, and Swarmy Stash. It had more going on than people give it credit for, but the theme is really not that exciting for most, and this season got trashed.
Mini Season 2
Chapter 6 Mini Season 2 is considered to be A-Tier, but I’d even rank it at S. We got a smaller map with POIs from Springfield, which is loved by many. The colors were vibrant, the cartoonish style and battle pass looked great, and overall, the season was insanely good. Weapon pool was immaculate, with collab Simpsons weapons being insanely fun to play with. The only grudge I hold is Crusty’s revolver that would balloon you in the air; this one had to go.
Chapter 7

Season 1
Chapter 7 Season 1 sits in D -Tier. It was long, lasting 110 days, the map was not that memorable and exciting to drop in, Battle Pass was meh, and special mechanics were bad. Self-Reviving item felt completely trash and out of place.
Season 2
Chapter 7 Season 2 is currently A-Tier, with lots of cool locations like Dark Dominion, Frigid Fortress, New Sanctuary, and Squibbly Shores. It introduced the Rivalries mechanic and uses a fresh loot pool that includes weapons like the Nemesis AR, Vector 7 DMR, and Seven Cluster Cannon. Rivalries mechanic and DMR weapon are the highlights of the season for me - you feel like a hunter stalking your prey every game, and for nice rewards, too.
