Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Cars Locations Guide

Forza Horizon 6 adds a new collectible car type called Treasure Cars. They work sort of like Barn Finds, but they are much faster to claim since you don’t need any prerequisites, such as the Discover level. There are 9 Treasure Cars total, and I’ll help you find them all in this Forza Horizon 6 Treasure Cars locations guide.

How Treasure Cars Work in Forza Horizon 6

Treasure Cars are hidden across the open world, and sort of work like Barn finds, but they are not exactly mechanically identical. Barn cars require Discover progression, while Treasure Cars can be collected without any level-based unlock chain. As you explore regions, the game gives you a postcard-style clue for that region’s hidden car. Mei delivers the photo clue of where the treasure car is whenever you drive near a new region.

Once you reach the correct area, drive near the car until the collection prompt appears. Once found, these cars are marked with a purple icon on your map, so even if you didn't claim them right away, they’re there waiting for you.

Now I’ll cover each location in detail with a map screenshot to boot. Some of these are pretty neatly hidden, so some guidance won’t be too extra.

1991 Nissan Figaro Treasure Car Location in Tokyo City

1991 Nissan Figaro Treasure Car Location in Tokyo City

The 1991 Nissan Figaro is a nice, classy tiny retro car and is the one you’ll probably find first, since the game starts in the city. You can find it in a small parking lot along the southern coast of Tokyo City. Just look for the area near the water where the Rainbow Bridge is visible.

1969 Dodge Charger R/T Treasure Car Location in Minamino

1969 Dodge Charger R/T Treasure Car Location in Minamino

The legendary 1969 Dodge Charger R/T muscle car is hidden in Minamino. This is one of the easier Treasure Cars to spot because it sits just off a main road near the golf course. To get this powerhouse of a car, ride behind the buildings on the eastern edge of the golf course, close to the Airfield Trail dirt racing event.

Once you reach the correct side road, look behind the buildings rather than directly on the main road - from my experience, you’ll have to break some railings to get close to the car, but maybe there’s some other way inside. The Charger is tucked away enough to miss at speed, but it’s not really hidden like some other cars in the list.

1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE Treasure Car Location in Ohtani

1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE Treasure Car Location in Ohtani

If you’re looking for a proper Japanese car that fits the setting well, the 1985 Mazda RX-7 GSL-SE is found in Ohtani. The in-game clue tells you to look for radio towers, but Ohtani is large, so the trick is to search the western mountain range near the Shimanoyama border.

Head west of the Horizon Festival Site in Ohtani and look for the group of red radio masts. The Mazda RX-7 is parked beside one of the towers, close to a large wooden house and a lighter-colored tower structure.

1987 Porsche 959 Treasure Car Location in Shimanoyama

1987 Porsche 959 Treasure Car Location in Shimanoyama

The 1987 Porsche 959 is one of the easiest supercars to get in the game, but it’s still has the premium feel to it. It is hidden in Narai-Juku, near a 365 Store. The main problem with finding the car is that the shop clue is super broad, so focus on the village area near the top of Shimanoyama.

Drive to the eastern side of the village and look for the 365 Store along the asphalt road, not the dirt road. The Porsche 959 is parked behind the shop, close to buildings, so it is easy to pass the shop and keep searching the wrong part of town.

1981 BMW M1 Treasure Car Location in Hokubu

1981 BMW M1 Treasure Car Location in Hokubu

The 1981 BMW M1 is one of the coolest classic sports cars in the Treasure Car lineup. It has a very different flavor from the Japanese finds, with a wedge-shaped body and old-school mid-engine design that still looks sharp today.

The clue points toward a railway, but the railway covers too much ground for the clue to be useful by itself. The exact spot is near a large railway bridge in the central-northern part of Hokubu. Drive north of the tunnels and search the open fields below the railway bridge. BMW M1 is underneath the bridge, beside the fields, near the Hokubu Ascent street race event, with a railway tunnel to the south.

1985 Nissan Safari Turbo Treasure Car Location in Ito

1985 Nissan Safari Turbo Treasure Car Location in Ito

The rugged 4x4 rough terrainer 1985 Nissan Safari Turbo is hidden in Ito. The location is tied to the Wind Farm point of interest, found in the wooded eastern coastal region. Follow the main dirt track until you reach the wind turbines, then search around the base of the turbines. The Safari Turbo sits at the base of a wind turbine, near railings and boxes on the road. This is a good one to grab with an off-road or rally car, since the dirt climb and mountain roads can get annoying.

1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR Treasure Car Location in Takashiro

1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR Treasure Car Location in Takashiro

The 1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR is hidden in Takashiro. Head to the western corner of the region and look for a dirt road that follows a small river toward a waterfall.

Take the dirt path by the bridge and keep following the river. The Evo is parked near the end of the track, just before the waterfall. Windows Central also describes the location as a marked dirt road beside a river, ending at the waterfall.

This is one of the better Treasure Cars thematically. A Lancer Evo tucked on a dirt road near a waterfall feels exactly like the kind of reward FH6’s Japan map was built for.

1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale Treasure Car Location in Sotoyama

1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale Treasure Car Location in Sotoyama

The legendary rally ride, 1974 Lancia Stratos HF Stradale is the Sotoyama Treasure Car. It is found in the snowy northern mountain area, behind a wooden lodge near the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route.

Look for the snowy path and wooden lodge around the center of Sotoyama. The car is parked outside a chalet, just off the main road and before a nearby Speed Zone. Because of the snow, reaching this place is much easier in an AWD car. You can still reach it in anything, but a rally or an off-road ride makes the climb less irritating.

2005 Ford GT Treasure Car Location in Nangan

2005 Ford GT Treasure Car Location in Nangan

The 2005 Ford G is one of the easier cars to miss because the coastline gives you a lot of samey ground to search. Head toward the eastern coastline of Nangan, where the trail overlooks Tokyo City, and look for a narrow dirt path that branches away from the main route and follows the hills near the coast. It’s the rightmost point on the coastline in the lower Nangan region, reached by a small dirt track leading off the main road. Once you spot the dirt trail, follow it, and you’ll get to the Ford GT waiting for you.

Best Treasure Cars to Get First in Forza Horizon 6

The best Treasure Cars to grab first are the ones closest to early driving routes. Tokyo City’s Nissan Figaro and Minamino’s Dodge Charger are easy early targets. The Ford GT in Nangan is also worth grabbing early if you already have the southern coastline revealed.

Priority

Treasure Car

Why It's Good

1

1991 Nissan Figaro

Easy to get near the start of the game

2

1969 Dodge Charger R/T

A great car near the main city

3

2005 Ford GT

A beautiful and powerful car that is easy to get once Nangan is revealed

4

1995 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution III GSR

Great fit for dirt and rally-style driving

Sure, you can still collect them in any order. I made this priority order mostly for players who want quick garage expansions straight after starting playing the game, without even committing to racing activities. Also, there’s one tip most players miss: spending just one skill point on each Treasure Car rewards 10,000 XP - the highest return of any car type, so do it as soon as you collect each one.
