Free Fire Weapon Tier List 2026 TL;DR

  • Groza is the best all-around weapon, while M1887, Woodpecker, UMP, AWM, M82B, and MP40 make up the S-Tier.

  • A-Tier weapons like Thompson, MAG-7, Trogon, SCAR, AC80, and Kar98k are excellent, but each has a clearer weakness than the top tier.

  • B-Tier guns are usable and decent in the right hands, but you should usually swap them out once you find stronger options.

  • C-Tier weapons can work in some situations, but they are much less rewarding and than the meta picks above them.

  • SCAR and UMP are the safest beginner-friendly choices due to how easy they are to control.

  • The three best pairings are Groza + M1887 for all-range pressure, UMP + Woodpecker for a stable armor-breaking setup, and AWM or M82B + MP40 for a classic sniper-to-push loadout.

Free Fire Weapons Meta Rankings

With such a large arsenal, there are quite a few guns to choose from. Here’s how I think the current weapons meta is, based on what I saw in-game and other community rankings:

S-Tier: Groza, M1887, Woodpecker, UMP, AWM, M82B, MP40
A-Tier: Thompson, MAG-7, Trogon, SCAR, AC80, Kar98k
B-Tier: XM8, M14, M1014, MP5, MAC10, M24, FAMAS
C-Tier: AK47, M4A1, AN94, VSK94, Charge Buster, Shield Gun

S-Tier Explained

Groza

Free Fire Groza

If you want a gun you could main that’s reliable and universally good, I’d say Groza is your best choice. It does everything well with 30 rounds of 61 damage bullets, has a good rate of fire, accuracy, and range. This makes it usable on any range. From CQC to open-field encounters, Groza is an elite choice.

M1887

Free Fire M1887

M1887’s power is well known in the community. It has 100 damage and a fire rate that's faster than you'd expect, which makes it an absurd tool at close range. The two-shell magazine is the only real weakness, but that downside does not stop the best players from constantly using it.

This gun has stayed relevant for years, and I think it’s pretty obvious why. Having that fast of a TTK is insanely broken, especially if you play with it often and use it well. It’s usable for new players, and its skill ceiling is so high that even after thousands of hours, you can always get better with it.

Woodpecker

Free Fire Woodpecker

Woodpecker is an S-Tier Marksman rifle in the eyes of most players, and I think its spot is well-deserved. The biggest strengths of this gun are the damage and armor penetration; it’s actually comparable to full-on sniper rifles.

UMP

Free Fire UMP

UMP stands out among other SMGs due to how balanced the gun is. Fire rate is insane, damage is high, and accuracy is pretty decent for a weapon that shoots this rapidly. It’s a comfortable gun that has surprising range potential for what you’d expect from an SMG. And that’s the quality that actually makes a difference between a mediocre weapon and a great one.

AWM

Free Fire AWM

Cmon, AWM is iconic at this point. With 150 damage, it’s no wonder this gun gets so much play. Once you get better with it, it turns into a frag machine, and the better you are the less of a stationary target you’ll become - the skill ceiling is very high.

M82B

Free Fire M828

M82B is right there with AWM - the damage is slightly lower, but you get an anti-Gloo wall utility and bigger mag.

MP40

Free Fire MP40

If you’re looking for a weapon with the best ttk, the MP40 is unparalleled. With 48 damage and an 83 rate of fire, this gun kills anyone in seconds, and it’s often times easier to use than shotguns. For close encounters where you need to get your enemy faster than he gets you, the MP40 is the best choice.

A-Tier Explained

Thompson

Free Fire Thompson

Thompson is just a good ol’ reliable SMG with a bigger mag, which means more chances for you to miss some and still get the kill. It is strong and dependable, but it lacks the same close-range panic power as the MP40 and the same overall flexibility as the UMP. I think if you’re good at the game, a bigger mag shouldn’t be that much of a reason to choose a specific gun.

MAG-7

Free Fire MAG-7

MAG-7 is one of the most practical shotguns outside the very top tier. 8 rounds, 80 damage each, and a pretty fast fire rate are a pretty unique shotgun profile. It is less explosive, but far easier to maintain through longer close-range fights.

I think that is exactly the reason why so many players like it, especially the casual and newer ones. MAG is smooth to play and easy to get the value of.

Trogon

Free Fire Trogon

Trogon stays in A tier because it is one of the strongest specialist weapons in Free Fire. Its burst and grenade-based identity gives it a very unusual role, but consistency becomes a concern. Trogon can feel amazing in the right hands, but it asks for more planning and a more specific usage approach than the best weapons.

SCAR

Free Fire SCAR

I don’t know if this gun needs introducing. SCAR is one of the easiest rifles to recommend with a balanced statline -  it has 53 damage, 60 range, 30 rounds, and 61 rate of fire. That is a very strong package for a weapon that also has a community reputation for low recoil and easy control. It’s just a reliable weapon for players who don’t want to bother themselves with choosing fancier options.

AC80

Free Fire AC80

I think AC80 is good enough. The reason it sits in A tier instead of S is that it asks for more skill from the player while not being as overwhelmingly good as S-Tier options. That said, i still consider it to be one of the best skill-based picks in the tier.

Kar98k

Free Fire KAR98K

Kar98k deserves to be in A because it’s simply good -  It is accurate, comfortable to use, and practical. It may not be as oppressive as AWM or as disruptive as M82B, but it is still one of the best sniper options for players who want reliable long-range impact without needing the absolute highest-end weapon.

B-Tier Explained

B-Tier guns all have one thing in common - they are decent, but there are better counterparts in higher tiers.

  • XM8 and M14 are still dependable medium-to-long-range options. XM8 is easy to use and stays stable in normal duels, while M14 still has strong reach and solid damage. You’d still want to swap to better guns once you find them, though.

  • M1014 is a playable shotgun, but it is harder to justify when M1887 and MAG-7 exist. MP5, MAC10, M24, and FAMAS also remain viable in the right hands, but each of them is subpar to stronger, specialized options in the tiers above.

C-Tier Explained

C-Tier guns like AK47, M4A1, and AN94 sit here for clear reasons:

  • AK47 has high damage but asks for too much control - there are guns that have the same ttk but don’t ask for this amount of commitment.

  • M4A1 is a balanced gun but lacks standout upsides.

  • AN94 offers power, but its handling-to-damage ratio is not rewarding enough compared to the alternatives.

VSK94, Charge Buster, and Shield Gun round out the lower tier. Each of them can work in certain situations, but none of them offer work nearly as well as the best guns.

Best Free Fire Weapon Pairings for 2026

If you want strong pairings for real matches, there are three that stand out to me the most:

  • Groza plus M1887 gives you brutal all-range pressure

  • UMP plus Woodpecker gives you a very stable and armor-stripping setup

  • AWM or M82B paired with MP40 is a classic sniper-to-push style combination in the game
