Grow a Garden 2 Pets Tier List for June 2026 TL;DR
-
S-Tier pets are Raccoon, Ice Serpent, and Unicorn - the three you want in your lineup as soon as possible
-
Raccoon is the single most impactful pet in the game: it steals for you at night and raises your carry limit by +25
-
Bee and Bunny are smarter picks than their tier suggests - both shine in specific playstyles, especially stealing
-
Monkey is a Mythic rarity with a C-Tier performance in practice - the pickup timer is painfully random
-
Owl is underrated as a passive AFK tool: its rare pet spawn alert alone makes it worth a slot early on
-
Three unreleased dragons - Fire Dragon, Three-Headed Dragon, and Black Dragon (in-game but unobtainable) - are ones to watch in future updates

The Best Grow a Garden 2 Pets Ranked - June 2026 Tier List

The pets in Grow a Garden 2 aren’t simply for decoration. Every single pet is a passive buff that actually does something to help your garden grow faster, defend your farm at night, and make it easier to steal from others. In contrast to the original game, in which you would hatch the eggs and wait, here the pets appear randomly across the map and have a timer above their heads. All you do is walk over to them, pay Sheckles for them, and take them back to your farm before anyone else steals them! It's chaotic, and I love it.

S-Tier - The Best Pets in Grow a Garden 2
These three pets pull genuine weight in every part of the game. If you can only prioritize a handful of slots, fill them here first.
Raccoon

Rarity: Super | Price: 15,000,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Raccoon is the best pet in the game right now. Its ability does two separate things: it sneaks out at night and automatically steals fruit from empty gardens, and it permanently raises your steal limit by +25. Most pets do one thing - the Raccoon does two, and both directly generate income. Stack it with a Bunny for speed, and you have one of the strongest stealing setups going. The 15,000,000 Sheckle price is steep but absolutely fair for what you get.
Ice Serpent

Rarity: Super | Price: None (Guild Reward) | Obtain: Guild Rewards - Top 100
The Ice Serpent is the rarest pet available so far in the game. To obtain this pet, players have to reach a top 100 position in guild leaderboards, where guilds are ranked based on plant weight, requiring teamwork. This ability freezes nighttime intruders and makes them immobile. Combining with poison from bees and reverse controls creates a garden of death, from which few escape.
Unicorn

Rarity: Mythic | Price: 12,000,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Unicorn doubles the chance for Rainbow mutations for plants and fruit. This mutation applies only to new growth and not existing fruit on a plant. Therefore, to optimize the use of Unicorns, it would be beneficial to plant new plants often. With enough time, the five Unicorn pet team becomes an effective farm. Besides being highly valuable, it is also the most beautiful pet.
A-Tier - Strong Pets Worth Running
A-Tier pets are solid value picks that contribute meaningfully once your S-Tier slots are covered.
Golden Dragonfly

Rarity: Mythic | Price: 9,000,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
With the Golden Dragonfly, you will get twice the chances of turning your plants and fruits into Gold. Even though it's not as valuable as Rainbow, it's easier to turn your plants and fruits into gold; this will ensure a constant source of income, which makes the dragonfly worth investing in before purchasing the Unicorns. Just like the previous pets, it only works on new plants - keep the garden cycling. Don't make my mistake of keeping Sheckles locked in bamboo when one of these spawns.
Robin

Rarity: Legendary | Price: 75,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Robin eats fruit when it’s ready and sometimes, very rarely, drops a seed for what it’s eating – the less common the fruit, the rarer the seed drop. Five Robins working together will actually be an effective seed farming strategy. For 75,000 Sheckles, it’s the best GaG 2 Legendary pet by far, but bear in mind that it’ll eat what you grow to do its thing.
Deer

Rarity: Rare | Price: 50,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Deer gives a straightforward growth speed boost of 10%, which adds up with each additional Deer. Nothing fancy, but a quicker-growing garden will mean a wealthier one in the long run. At 50,000 Sheckles, it’s the best early investment that money can buy.
B-Tier - Decent Picks with a Specific Role
B-Tier pets each have a legitimate use case, but are too limited or situational to rank higher on their own.
Owl

Rarity: Uncommon | Price: 25,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Owl increases night vision range by 12.5% and makes hooting sounds every time a rare pet appears on the map. The hoot feature is the game changer for me. I increase my speakers' volume, turn my sound effects to maximum, mute the music, and allow the Owl to do its thing, as I leave the game AFK for some time. At 25,000 Sheckles cost, this rare pet is definitely worth acquiring from the start.
Bunny

Rarity: Common | Price: 20,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Bunny boosts walk speed by +5, with a stacking effect. The Bunny becomes very handy once combined with the Speed Mushroom; you will be completely uncatchable in this case. By itself, however, it does not make any significant changes solely, but is very useful for a Raccoon stealing build.
Frog

Rarity: Common | Price: 10,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
With a Frog, you get +5 jump height per pet in exactly the same fashion as with the Bunny. The Frog will make your jumps sky-high if stacked with a Jump Mushroom – and it is not only funny, but very practical as well because you can easily outrun any potential pursuers carrying your loot of stolen fruit. As Jump Mushroom is not that common, it is not a very farm-friendly strat, but definitely the funniest to play with.
Bee

Rarity: Legendary | Price: 1,000,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Bee wanders around during nighttime and flies into anyone who steals any fruits from your garden, dealing poison damage to them as well as flipping their controls so that they are forced to move in the opposite direction, making them hard to escape from. This effect can only be triggered if someone is actively stealing fruit, not just trespassing on your land. The 1,000,000 Sheckle cost is steep for something this conditional, but in a server where stealing is constant, it absolutely earns its keep.
C-Tier - Not Worth the Investment
Monkey

Rarity: Mythic | Price: 3,000,000 Sheckles | Obtain: Map Spawn
The Monkey sometimes decides to pick ripe fruit and give it to you straight away – a good premise, but one with poor implementation. The timing of the fruit delivery is entirely random; for example, one day I saw the Monkey not move for almost nine minutes to give me just one Dragon Fruit. With a price of 3,000,000 Sheckles and Mythic rarity, it’s an embarrassment. Still, in my opinion, the concept sounds pretty cool, although I doubt its usefulness.
???-Tier - Unknown or Unreleased Pets
These pets exist in game files or developer leaks, but none are currently obtainable through normal gameplay.
Black Dragon
Rarity: Super | Obtain: Unknown
This dragon has an entry in the Grow a Garden 2 wiki page and has a confirmed ability to breathe fire on any intruder and burn them. However, it has only a placeholder image and no method of obtaining it. Super rarity makes this dragon one to keep an eye on for sure, as it is at par with Ice Serpent and Raccoon in terms of tier ranking.
Fire Dragon

Rarity: Unknown | Obtain: Unknown
No confirmed image for the Fire Dragon, only a leaked one. This dragon does not have an ability, nor does it have an obtain method that can be considered official. This is something we don't know much about at the moment.
Three-Headed Dragon

Rarity: Unknown | Obtain: Unknown
This is a teaser dragon that has been revealed by a developer image leak on the official Grow a Garden Discord. It does not have an ability yet, nor a rarity or an obtain method yet, but the design that has been revealed is quite impressive so far.
