Limbus Company Tier List TL;DR

  • Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu has the highest ceiling, but her sacrifice setup takes more planning than most teams.

  • Index Nursefather Yi Sang is the safest S-Tier investment. His normal skills are already strong before his signature attack comes online.

  • Mao Faust and Lord Hong Lu carry the Heishou archetype, with plenty of Rupture support and faction synergy between them.

  • Middle Outis and Thumb Rodion are monsters in their proper squads, but both lose quite some sauce without the right partners.

  • Dawn Faust turned Dawn Office into a real endgame team, while also dragging Dawn Sinclair back into the current meta.

  • Actual power often comes from having the right team assembled, so take the individual power rankings with a grain of salt.

Limbus Company Characters Tier List 2026

Limbus Company Characters Tier List

Ranking every single identity would turn this guide into a wall of names that are insignificant to the meta. Instead, I’ve narrowed the list down to 30 Identities that deserve your attention if your aim is clearing the current endgame content. The ranking is mainly based on difficult story fights and Refraction Railway. Mirror Dungeon matters too, but scaling in this mode is mostly based around picking the right E.G.O Gifts - they can make a basic unit look completely busted. Here’s how the meta looks right now:

Tier

Identities

S-Tier

Blade of the House of Spiders Ryoshu, Heishou Pack - Mao Branch Adept Faust, The House of Spiders: The Index Nursefather Yi Sang, The House of Spiders: The Middle Nursefather Outis, The House of Spiders: The Thumb Nursefather Rodion, The Lord of Hongyuan Hong Lu

A-Tier

Dawn Office Fixer Faust, Dawn Office Fixer Sinclair, Heishou Pack - You Branch Adept Heathcliff, Jeong’s Office Rep Ishmael, LCD OSIR Team Ishmael, Lobotomy E.G.O::In the Name of Love and Hate Don Quixote, The Index Proxy - Effloresced E.G.O::Procuration Don Quixote, The Manager of La Manchaland Don Quixote, The Thumb East Capo IIII Meursault, Dawn Office Rep Gregor

B-Tier

LCE E.G.O::Lantern Yi Sang, Lobotomy E.G.O::Faint Aroma & Solitude Ryoshu, Lobotomy E.G.O::Magic Bullet Outis, Lobotomy E.G.O::The Sword Sharpened with Tears Rodion, The House of Spiders: The Ring Nursefather Hong Lu, The Middle Big Brother Heathcliff, Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault, Full-Stop Office Fixer Heathcliff, Full-Stop Office Rep Hong Lu, The House of Spiders: The Pinky Apprentice Sinclair

C-Tier

Heishou Pack - Si Branch Gregor, Heishou Pack - Si Branch Rodion, Wild Hunt Heathcliff, Effloresced E.G.O::Spicebush Yi Sang

S-Tier is reserved for the most broken meta units. These IDs work in almost any difficult fight and are a good reason that makes their faction worth building.

Best Limbus Company Identities Explained

Blade Ryoshu’s scaling has the highest ceiling in the game, but she reaches it through one of the strangest setups around. House of Spiders allies can feed her permanent upgrades when they die. Ryoshu gradually gains more power and starts taking over the fight after the rest of the family has been turned into fuel. Losing teammates normally means the run is falling apart, but for Ryoshu, it can be the win condition.

She can also build Poise while playing around Burn and Bleed, and she also has a high Slash output that gives the team a clear finishing line through her sacrifice engine. I think it’s worth mentioning that she’s tricky to build your team around, especially on a new account. Her design needs several House of Spiders IDs and lots of investment to make the setup worth running.

Index Yi Sang is probably the best top-tier pull for newbies because he does not need a full faction squad to perform at his best. As the fight continues, he builds toward Furioso-Replica, a nine-coin signature skill that often oneshots targets. The attack has a long charge, sure, but other tools in his kit keep him useful before he can cast that.

Mao Faust is the face of the modern Rupture archetype for a reason. She gets strong clashes and high damage while helping the team keep the status alive. Her Deathrite effects add another payoff to triggering Rupture. Once her unique stacks are ready, that enhanced attack can produce some silly numbers. She is also useful even before that payoff because the rest of her deck is stable and does not need perfect conditions to function. Another thing is that Mao Faust gets much better with other Heishou members around, but she can work in an ordinary Rupture squad; however, the faction build is what pushes her into S-Tier territory.

Middle Outis gave the Middle team the carry it desperately needed - the archetype already had Envy Resonance and revenge mechanics, but it needed somebody who could turn all that setup into damage. Outis fills that role with heavy damage, shield generation, and several stages of personal ramping. Middle Big Brother Heathcliff is one of her most important partners to have on your team. Outis can still fight without the full squad, but without the synergy, she is much less exciting.

Thumb Rodion’s kit mixes ammo management with Burn and Tremor damage, then adds free defensives on top. She also gets off strong clash damage values once her resource loop is working, and her bigger skills can deal absurd damage before forcing her into a reload phase. As with other characters on the list, she needs some backup from her archetype’s IDs - Thumb Apprentice Heathcliff helps especially well. Rodion can function without him, but the apprentice makes her much easier to manage by improving her resource gain.

Lord Hong Lu is the centerpiece of the Heishou team. His commands improve other allies and interact directly with the Heishou branch effects. He also brings Poise and Rupture to the table, so the damage is not entirely outsourced to Faust or Heathcliff. The longer the encounter runs, the more value he gets from ordering the squad around. Short fights can end before the combo setup gets going, but Railway-style encounters give him time to cook.

Dawn Faust sits just outside S-Tier and could easily move up depending on the content you run. The real value lies in what she does for Dawn Sinclair. His old SP problems and awkward ramp cycle become much easier to manage once Faust and Gregor join him. She also gives the Burn-Tremor team enough modern damage to stop feeling like a collection of outdated Walpurgis IDs. The squad is not cheap, though -  Its main pieces are all tied to Walpurgis Night, so newer players will struggle with getting the right pieces.

Dawn Sinclair is one of the nastiest Burn carries that gets especially good once his teammates are present. His transformed state gives him huge damage and strong clashes, but the old version of the team had to constantly babysit his Sanity. Dawn Faust and Dawn Gregor smooth out those problems and allow him to stay aggressive. The downside is how restricted he is in his build options - he is much less impressive outside Burn, and he’s super restricted to Dawn Office and does his job not so well outside of it.

You Branch Heathcliff plays like a berserker. He burns himself down, gets stronger at low HP, and eventually converts that risky state into a powerful enhanced attack. His own Burn cannot kill him, so the kit is less dangerous than it might look at first. Bloodflame also gives him extra value in Burn and Rupture teams. He works particularly well under Lord Hong Lu, but he is one of the more flexible Heishou IDs in the game. I would still prefer him with the faction, though; that is where the command effects and self-Burn loop start doing real work.

Index Don is one of the strongest general Don Quixote options and an excellent partner for Nursefather Yi Sang. She builds Poise and Sinking while progressing through the Prescript system. Her deck starts solid and gets stronger as Unlock improves, making her scale well in longer fights. She sits in A rather than S because Yi Sang steals most of the spotlight. Index Don remains extremely good, but she is no longer the undisputed carry of her team.

Other Identities Worth Building

Not every good Identity is at the top top level. But some are strong because they complete a specific team - there are older IDs that still do their job perfectly well despite the power creep from newer competition:

  • Jeong’s Office Rep Ishmael is one of the better Ishmael IDs to recommend. She starts putting out damage without asking you to assemble Blade Lineage around her first. LCD OSIR Team Ishmael can hit a higher ceiling in the right Poise setup, but she really wants Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault beside her.

  • Lobotomy E.G.O::In the Name of Love and Hate Don Quixote remains a strong Walpurgis pickup, especially for players who already own the E.G.O-focused pieces that support her. The Manager of La Manchaland Don Quixote is still one of the main Bloodfiend carries and can tear through long encounters once the full family gets rolling.

  • The Thumb East Capo IIII Meursault finally gives Meursault a modern-level damage ID that does not feel like a support unit wearing a carry costume. Blade Lineage Mentor Meursault is less flashy on his own, but he remains essential for Blade Lineage and unlocks the version of LCD OSIR Ishmael people actually want to play.

  • The Dawn Office team would not work nearly as well without Dawn Office Rep Gregor. Faust and Sinclair get the highlight clips, but Gregor keeps the engine moving through his follow-up attacks and faction support.

  • Several Walpurgis IDs remain worth the investment too. LCE E.G.O::Lantern Yi Sang is still useful even though Index Yi Sang has become the stronger general pick. Lobotomy E.G.O::Faint Aroma & Solitude Ryoshu continues to perform well, but sharing a Sinner with Blade Ryoshu is rough competition.

Best Identity for Every Sinner

Best Identity for Every Sinner

Some Sinners have several units in the top 30, while others can barely squeeze one in. Here is the Identity I would currently prioritize using for each character.

Sinner

Best Identity

Why

Yi Sang

The House of Spiders: The Index Nursefather

Massive damage without needing a perfectly built faction

Faust

Heishou Pack - Mao Branch Adept

Excellent Rupture support with enough damage to carry fights herself

Don Quixote

The Index Proxy - Effloresced E.G.O::Procuration

Strong general performance with extra value beside Index Yi Sang

Ryoshu

Blade of the House of Spiders

Highest ceiling once her sacrifice setup gets moving

Meursault

The Thumb East Capo IIII

His strongest current damage-focused Identity

Hong Lu

The Lord of Hongyuan

The main enabler behind the Heishou team

Heathcliff

Heishou Pack - You Branch Adept

Huge Burn and Rupture output with a working low-HP gimmick

Ishmael

Jeong’s Office Rep

Easier to use than LCD OSIR without giving up much power

Rodion

The House of Spiders: The Thumb Nursefather

Strong clashes with a nasty ammo-based payoff

Sinclair

Dawn Office Fixer

One of the hardest Burn carries once his Dawn partners are present

Outis

The House of Spiders: The Middle Nursefather

Gives the Middle team the damage it needed

Gregor

Dawn Office Rep

A key support piece for the modern Dawn Office squad

Everything’s situational - LCD OSIR Ishmael can beat Jeong in her intended setup, while a finished Bloodfiend account may value Manager Don over Index Don.

Which Identity Should Beginners Build First?

There are some IDs that are definitely higher priority for building. If you pull those, invest your resources without thinking:

  • Index Nursefather Yi Sang is the easiest top-tier recommendation. He works in mixed teams, clashes reliably, and deals strong damage before Furioso-Replica appears.

  • Mao Faust is another great investment when you already have a Rupture or Heishou foundation. Without that foundation, some of her best interactions will be missing.

  • I would avoid starting with Blade Ryoshu just because she sits at the top. She is powerful, but her ideal setup needs more pieces and a stranger playstyle than most new accounts can support.

  • Dawn Sinclair has a similar issue. He looks amazing in a finished Dawn squad and much less attractive when Faust and Gregor are absent.
