The gap between S-Tier and everything else is absurd. Chroma Traveler’s Gun alone currently sits at 220,000 on Supreme Values, while Gingerscope, the highest-valued normal Ancient, is at 17,750. This huge difference alone shows how ridiculously expensive the premium Chroma market has become.
S-Tier MM2 Weapons
Chroma Traveler’s Gun is the best weapon in Murder Mystery 2 right now, and it is not even close. It originally came from the 2023 Halloween event and was an extremely rare unbox even at the time, and got even rarer naturally ever since. The supply is tiny, people actually want it, and its value is so high that one trade can involve inventories worth of more normal Godlies.
Chroma Evergun is my second-place pick and currently sits at 76,000 value, 8 demand, and 8 rarity. It came from the 2023 Christmas gifting system, where players had a small chance to receive it after giving 100 Gifts. You can also pair it with Chroma Evergreen, and you get the Chroma Ever Set, currently valued at 136,000 with 8 demand and 8 rarity. Sets matter a lot when you reach this end of the market because collectors will often pay for the ultimate flex of having the complete pair.
Chroma Evergreen is the best knife in MM2. Its current value is very high, which puts it above any normal Ancient knife on the market in terms of demand. I also think it is one of the few absurdly expensive weapons that actually looks expensive. Chroma Evergreen is part of the FX weapon group, which means it gets special features such as custom holding animations and glowing lights. It originally came from the 2023 Christmas Box.
Chroma Bauble is highly sought-after based on exclusivity alone. As with other weapons on the list, you can’t get any more of these, so they cost a pretty penny, and its looks are quite unique.
Chroma Vampire’s Gun is another premium event weapon with a current value of 29,000, plus 7 demand and 6 rarity. It originally came from the 2024 Halloween event. I rank it below Bauble because the value ceiling is lower, but 7 demand is still excellent. That matters more than people think. A weapon can technically be “worth” a lot and still be a nightmare to move if nobody wants to offer for it. Chroma Vampire’s Gun does not have that problem to the same extent. It is rare, instantly recognizable, and still strong enough to anchor a serious inventory.
Chroma Constellation rounds out my S-Tier. It has a slick cosmic design combined with great trading value that won’t go down any time soon, and the price is not as egregious as some of the guns on the list.
A-Tier MM2 Weapons
A-Tier is where the market becomes slightly more realistic and affordable. Chroma Alienbeam still costs more than most inventories you can see in random public servers, so you’re still in a “collector items” category realistically.
Chroma Alienbeam is basically the gatekeeper between S-Tier and the rest of the market. It’s highly valued, but the demand isn’t there, partly because it’s very different from other guns in design. I still love it as a trading target because it is part of the Chroma Alien Set with Chroma Raygun. That full set is expensive, but at least you get a coherent collection goal that looks very different and instantly catches the eye.
Gingerscope is the best Ancient weapon in Murder Mystery 2. The reason is that it has something most older weapons do not: FX features. Gingerscope gets the custom animation and glowing light, which makes it stand out even before you consider the trading value. This is the best choice for a player who wants one genuinely elite and visually impactful weapon without jumping into the totally delusional Chroma market.
Chroma Rayguns are not as scarce as Chroma Alienbeam, but the design is easy to recognize, and the whole alien/sci-fi theme gives it a much stronger identity than another generic holiday gun or a knife.
Chroma Sunrise is one of my favorite A-Tier picks because it combines current-day value with actual visual appeal. It is worth 11,500 and is actually gaining in value over time since you can’t get it anywhere but through trade. It is also an FX weapon, so it gets the extra visual bells and whistles for a moderate trading price.
Chroma Snowcannon currently sits at an 8,500 value score and gets more and more expensive with time. It is not quite S-Tier because the gap to Chroma Constellation prices is enormous, but for active trading, this is still a very good weapon.
Traveler’s Axe is the best Ancient knife on my list and currently has an 8,400 value with 6 demand and 5 rarity. I rank it below Gingerscope because the value is less than half, but it is still miles above the old Ancient options like Batwing and Elderwood Scythe.
Chroma Blizzard rounds out A-Tier at 8,000 value. Its demand and rarity both sit at 5, which is good, but it recently lost a bit of value, so I would be a little more careful about overpaying for it.
B-Tier MM2 Weapons
B-Tier is where most dedicated players are in terms of trading. These weapons are still valuable, recognizable, and useful for building an inventory, but you do not need to break the bank to afford one.
|
Weapon |
Why It’s B-Tier |
|---|---|
|
Chroma Sunset |
Strong FX Chroma, but below the premium market |
|
Chroma Heart Wand |
Valuable 2026 Chroma with a lower rarity ceiling |
|
Traveler’s Gun |
Best normal Godly by current value |
|
Evergun |
Strong Godly gun and part of the Ever Set |
|
Evergreen |
Great FX knife with set appeal |
|
Celestial |
High-end Ancient with solid demand |
|
Darkshot |
Rising and part of a strong current set |
|
Darksword |
Rising alongside Darkshot |
|
Raygun |
Good demand and part of the Alien Set |
|
Sunrise |
Strong modern FX Godly |
I’d say the best bang for your buck is The Dark Set. Darkshot and Darksword combine for a set value of 3,075, and you’re getting a great-looking combo without investing much.
C-Tier and D-Tier MM2 Weapons
C- and D-tier weapons are not bad. Most of them are just stuck in that awkward place where collectors know the name, but stronger current items have more demand and much higher trading ceilings.
Corrupt is the obvious exception. It is the only normally tradeable Unique weapon and remains one of the most iconic items in MM2, but Supreme currently places it at just 475 value. That is respectable, yet nowhere near the current high-end Chroma market.
I would still happily keep most weapons for a collection or regular use; it’s just that they’re not quite there in terms of value.
Best-Looking Weapons in Murder Mystery 2
Not everyone plays MM2 like a hedge fund manager. Sometimes you just want a weapon that actually looks cool in your games. For that, I would prioritize FX weapons. FX category provides you with special features such as custom holding animations and glowing lights, and my top picks for this category are:
-
Chroma Evergreen
-
Gingerscope
-
Chroma Sunrise
-
Chroma Evergun
-
Chroma Sunset
Chroma Evergreen is the easy winner for me. It looks expensive, actually is expensive, and lets the entire server know who the Sheriff is.
How to Get the Best Weapons in MM2

Unboxing can get you Godlies and Chromas from eligible boxes. The MM2 Wiki lists the normal box Godly chance at around 0.2%, or 1 in 500, while Chroma versions are much rarer. So yes, you can get lucky. You can also open boxes for three hours and leave with enough commons to decorate a landfill. The actual progression route would be:
|
Step |
What to Do |
|---|---|
|
1 |
Learn current values before accepting trades |
|
2 |
Build a small inventory with liquid Godlies |
|
3 |
Trade into complete sets when possible |
|
4 |
Target items with healthy demand, not value alone |
|
5 |
Avoid overpaying for a weapon that is currently dropping |
|
6 |
Move into premium Chromas only when you understand the market |
Do not blindly trust the numbers. An item with a high theoretical value but awful demand can sit in your inventory for ages while you slowly realize nobody else wants it.
