The Outfits feature is what ARC Raiders does much better than a lot of other games - they are highly customizable, allowing us to essentially get several different looks in one outfit purchase. Taking headgear and masks off completely shifts how you look, making you naturally look way more friendly; put them on, and you’ll achieve the opposite effect. Taste in cosmetics is subjective, of course, but let’s establish the main criteria I’m going to at least try to adhere to when getting ARC Raiders outfits ranked:

How slick it looks, obviously

How efficient the silhouette is - you don’t really want your skin to take too much space on the screen, outfit pieces peek out of the cover, or have too many moving parts that could distract you

How well it blends with the environment

How high is its role-play value - does it have a distinct look that tells something about its user outright?

#1 Ombra
This is the nastiest-looking skin in the game, and you can’t make me think otherwise. This guy looks like he left the Speranza solely to hunt somebody down. He’ll shoot you in the back, revive you, shoot you again, say mean things in voice chat, then loot your remains clean even though he doesn’t even need your loot. I’ll never trust people rocking this skin, and I love it for it. That’s a Joker-level psychotic madman type skin. Removing the headgear turns it into something friendly and cheerful-looking, and that’s a plus too - you’re getting two-for-one.
#2 Goalie
This skin is a Freebie, but it still looks extremely sick. Rocking football gear while fighting angry robots and bloodthirsty players feels heavenly. Lots of customization with this one:

Turn the skin gold if you feel extravagant, that is, if you invest enough Cred into its deck
Boots are another flaring feature of the outfit for me - I wouldn’t want to get kicked by the guy wearing these chunky things. Skin looks neutral to me; wearing it, you can both PvP and PvE and look badass while doing it. In my experience, the hooded one is used by more aggressive players. Easily the best free skin in ARC Raiders for me.
#3 Riposta
This skin could look both like a rugged scavenger looking for scraps when using the green palette and a full headgear, and like a corporate henchman on a mission when using the googles and Ermacora colorway. Removable chest and shoulder armor combined with a protected sleeve make this skin look fully ready for both PvP and PvE. A standout Stella Montis outfit option, in my opinion - you look like you belong in there.
#4 Origin
Guys rocking the Origin skin are a mystery. It’s either his first day playing the game, or he’s just a wolf in sheep’s clothing looking to play friendly, then shoot you in your back. The outfit itself is one of the best-looking free ARC Raiders skins - you project a proper scrapper look. Headgear is excellent, and colorway options are extensive, allowing you to blend with every map’s environment at will.
#5 Abyss
Abyss is this menacing PvP-type skin. No way this dude came Topside to smell flowers and be friendly with everybody. He’s up to no good, I’m telling you. With some customization, he can look like a lost scuba diver or a weird combatant wearing a waterproof suit, and colorways allow him to blend well on practically any map. Definitely a solid bizarre outfit pick for this at times bizarre game.
#6 Bog Walker
This is an excellent outfit to explore the Dam Battleground’s swamp areas or Stella Montis labs. Who knows what’s in the air, so you go Topside wearing a full-blown chemsuit. Makes you look somewhat smart and mysterious. Maybe you know something worth keeping you alive? Colorways and cloth textures are excellent with this one, especially the purple one, so it definitely makes the list.
#7 Torpedo
Torpedo gives Star Wars vibes, which imo makes it one of the most popular ARC Raiders skins. This dude looks like he can take a shot from a Bombardier or two with these huge pauldrons and helmet. Highly customizable and fits any map with the right colorway choice.
#8 Warden
Warden is a clean skin. He has the look of a realistic mechanic who went Topside looking for industrial loot for his next project. This effortless, down-to-earth attitude alone makes it one of the best looking outfits in ARC Raiders. Imagine getting downed by that dude - he looks so nonchalant, like you don’t even matter. He’s Topside looking for some rusted bolts, and you foolishly get on his way.
#9 Velati
Velati is a great skin for friendlies - you look like you got something important going on with all that tech on you. This outfit makes you look like a highly competent scavenger who values comfort, with these strapped boots, a sturdy gambeson, a bandaged hand, and a watch on. Cool visor combined with some sort of scanning devices all over you, headphones, and a cassette player? That’s cold.
#10 Sandwalker
Sandwalker is an ultimate Spaceport and Buried City skin. It combines great sand camouflage with a menacing prowling scavenger look. You look like you came prepared to these sand-buried ruins; well, it’s literally in the outfit’s name. Be prepared to get shot on sight, though, you don’t look like the friendliest of the guys wearing this skin. Customization can offset that entirely, though. An orange colorway combined with the removed headgear makes you look nice and civil. Overall, the skin is great; it gives off heavy Dune vibes.
