Black Ops 7 Burn Run Assignment Guide TL;DR
-
Burn Run launches with Black Ops 7 Season 5 on July 23, 2026.
-
The Assignment takes place exclusively in Avalon’s Endgame mode.
-
You must drive a bomb-rigged vehicle through 30 flaming arches before the timer reaches zero.
-
Running over Fear enemies and destructible objects adds seconds to the timer.
-
Repair wrenches restore the vehicle, while speed boosts help you reach later checkpoints faster.
You can buy ranked-ready Call of Duty accounts on Playhub and get straight into the fray. You can also get accounts with prestige rewards and the rarest camos, all delivered safely and quickly.
What Is a Burn Run in Black Ops 7?
Burn Run is a vehicle-based Assignment added to Black Ops 7’s Endgame mode with Season 5. Instead of regular building clearing or defending an objective, you’re placed inside a vehicle rigged with explosives and sent racing across Avalon, which I think is very fitting for the mode’s theme.
Your objective is simple: drive through all 30 flaming arches and reach the destination before the bomb timer expires. The course is lined with Fear enemies, destructible objects, repair wrenches, and speed boosts - Mario Kart style. Running over targets adds time, and the pickups are here help keep your vehicle moving. It sounds like one of the less complicated Endgame Assignments, but I don’t think Burn Runs are completely free progression. You’re managing three things simultaneously:
-
The route ahead
-
The remaining bomb timer
-
Your vehicle’s condition
Driving quickly is only part of the challenge. You also need to decide which enemies and bonuses are worth hitting without going out of your way too much.
Black Ops 7 Burn Run Release Date
Burn Run launches alongside Black Ops 7 Season 5 on July 23, 2026, at 9 AM PT. It is a launch-content Assignment rather than mid-season content, so it’ll become available as soon as the Season 5 update goes live.
Another thing to know - Season 5 is also the final season in which Endgame is planned to remain free through the Call of Duty: Warzone menu. Once Season 6 begins, players will need to own Black Ops 7 to continue accessing Endgame.
How to Start the Burn Run Assignment
Just like any other Assignment, it’s started at a specific location marked on your map. To find Burn Run:
-
Enter Black Ops 7 Endgame.
-
Select your Operator and Endgame loadout.
-
Deploy into Avalon.
-
Open the Tac Map.
-
Locate the Burn Run Assignment marker.
-
Travel to the starting point.
-
Interact with the objective to begin the Assignment.
-
Enter the provided bomb-rigged vehicle.
The exact starting location and map icon have not been detailed in the Season 5 announcement. Like other Endgame Assignments, Burn Run should appear as an objective on the Tac Map during a deployment.
I recommend bringing squadmates or enabling squad fill, especially when trying the Assignment for the first time. Although Burn Run mainly tests your driving, having another player alive prevents an ordinary death elsewhere in the deployment from immediately wiping your entire run.
Black Ops 7 Burn Run Objectives and Bonuses
The key detail here is that enemies are not obstacles you should always avoid. In Burn Run, they are effectively mobile timer pickups and are essential to your success:
|
Mechanic |
Objective |
How to Do It |
|---|---|---|
|
Flaming arches |
Mark the route and required checkpoints |
Pass through all 30 in order |
|
Fear enemies |
Add time when run over |
Hit enemies positioned directly along your route |
|
Destructible objects |
Add additional seconds |
Smash convenient objects without taking a long detour |
|
Repair wrenches |
Keep the vehicle in working condition |
Collect them after collisions or heavy damage |
|
Speed boosts |
Increase vehicle speed |
Use them to recover time and reach later arches faster |
|
Bomb timer |
Destroys the vehicle when it expires |
Keep moving and collect time bonuses |
The best run over targets will be those standing directly on the road or close enough to it that you can crush them without compromising your speed.
Burn Run Completion Tips

-
Prioritize the Road Over Small Bonuses
Hit enemies and objects that naturally fall within your route. Ignore isolated targets when chasing them would require any detours at all, maintaining momentum is everything.
-
Save Vehicle Durability
Running over Fear enemies is encouraged, but crashing into buildings is not. The vehicle needs to survive the entire 30-arch course. Avoid collisions wherever possible and collect repair wrenches before your vehicle gets destroyed.
-
Use Squad Fill
Even if only one player controls the Burn Run vehicle, deploying with a squad gives you more protection throughout the rest of the match. I would not risk a developed Operator purely for the satisfaction of doing the activity alone.
-
Leave Enough Time to Exfil
Completing Burn Run does not end the Endgame deployment. You still need to reach a friendly VTOL and exfil before the overall match timer expires to preserve your current loadout and Combat Rating.
Black Ops 7 Burn Run Rewards
Because Burn Run is an Endgame Assignment, it contributes to the mode’s normal progression structure. Endgame Assignments increase Combat Rating and award caches containing equipment, but the exact payout attached to Burn Run has not been confirmed.
I would not expect a major exclusive cosmetic unless one appears through a related Seasonal Challenge. The official Season 5 announcement lists Burn Run as new Endgame content but does not associate it with a separate reward track.
