Dragon Ball Legends Best Teams TL;DR:
-
Lineage of Evil is the strongest team, led by Ultra Final Form Cooler and with its core units being Android #17 & Golden Frieza.
-
Majin Buu Saga has a premium core built around using Ultra SSJ3 Goku & SSJ2 Vegeta, Legend Super Vegito, and Ultra Buuhan.
-
Universe Rep is the home for Legend SSB Kaioken Goku, Android #17 & Golden Frieza.
-
Fusion Warrior is an explosive team, but it needs careful Leader-slot and bench management.
-
GT has one of the nastiest double-Ultra cores with Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku and Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta.

Best Dragon Ball Legends Teams Ranked

The strongest PvP parties share tags to get the most out of passives, cover each other's weaknesses, and have a bench that decently buffs your fighters. For this list, I have focused on Ranked PvP builds, not fantasy setups that require every recent Ultra at 14 stars. Each section includes a preferred core, workable alternatives, and a short explanation of how the team wins. These are the teams used for high-level PvP right now:
|
Rank |
Team |
Core Units |
Strenghts |
|---|---|---|---|
|
1 |
Lineage of Evil |
Ultra Final Form Cooler, Android #17 & Golden Frieza, LL Metal Cooler |
17/Frieza restores ally health, raises enemy Arts costs, and supplies damage buffs. Meanwhile, Cooler builds his Evolve Gauge. Metal Cooler's Comeback absorbs a potential KO and gives Ultra Cooler more time to reach Release Type. |
|
2 |
Majin Buu Saga |
Ultra SSJ3 Goku & SSJ2 Vegeta, Legend Super Vegito, Ultra Buuhan |
Buuhan's autocounter and disruption hold the enemy team up while Goku and Vegeta prepare the Super Spirit Bomb. Super Vegito's card-draw buffs and Release Type gauge create long combos that force out the opponent's defensives before the Spirit Bomb lands. |
|
3 |
Universe Rep |
Legend SSB Kaioken Goku, Android #17 & Golden Frieza, God of Destruction Toppo |
17/Frieza heals the party and shortens substitution counts, making enough time for Kaioken Goku to charge his Time Type Gauge rapidly from standby. Toppo takes the defensive turns, allowing Goku to re-enter with gauge available for combo-breaking nullification or a powered Ultimate. |
|
4 |
Fusion Warrior |
Legend Super Saiyan God Shallet, Legend Super Vegito, flexible Leader |
Shallet's switch to the LGT Element covers dangerous color matchups and keeps the core stable. Super Vegito converts every card draw into stronger Arts and uses Release Type to continue the damage. Fill the Leader slot with someone who adds the defensive mechanic or a color you need. |
|
5 |
GT |
Ultra Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku, Ultra Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, GT support |
Vegeta's Switch Attack forces the opponent to respect his burst damage, creating openings for Goku's two Special Maneuvers. A defensive GT third absorbs early combos so both Ultras keep their late-match aces. |
|
6 |
Game Originals |
Legend Super Saiyan God Shallet, Legend Trunks & Gohan, flexible Leader |
Trunks and Gohan use Tag Switches to strengthen their Special Arts and Legend Action, then hand the match back to Shallet when the combo ends. |
Best Lineage of Evil Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
Leader and primary attacker |
Ultra Final Form Cooler |
|
Support and defensive pivot |
Legend Android #17 & Golden Frieza |
|
Comeback unit |
LL Metal Cooler |
|
Bench priorities |
Lineage of Evil health, Strike Attack, Strike Defense, and matching Zenkai buffs |
Lineage of Evil is my pick for the best Dragon Ball Legends team in the current meta, and stats actually show the same. Ultra Final Form Cooler gives the party a broken front-line attacker. A pure Lineage of Evil party also activates his non-Leader Ultra Ability, although the Leader version provides the larger personal boost. The game plan is simple: let 17/Frieza absorb hits and generate support, preserve Metal Cooler's Comeback for a dangerous enemy sequence, and give Ultra Cooler enough field time to develop his gauge.
Best Majin Buu Saga Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
Main win condition |
Ultra Super Saiyan 3 Goku & Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta |
|
Combo attacker |
Legend Super Vegito |
|
Disruption and counterplay |
Ultra Ultimate Gohan Absorbed Buu: Super |
|
Bench priorities |
Majin Buu Saga health, Strike Attack, and relevant Zenkai buffs |
Majin Buu Saga has the best premium core; that is, if you own all three pieces. Ultra Super Saiyan 3 Goku & Super Saiyan 2 Vegeta can enter Super Spirit Bomb preparation after filling the Unique Gauge and using the Switch Ability. The resulting attack has KO Prevention Nullification, so it can finish characters through effects such as Revival, Comeback, and Indestructible. Legend Super Vegito makes every card draw feed his offense, and his Release Type gauge gives the team another way to take control of a match. If you are missing one Ultra, Majin Buu Saga still has a deep replacement pool. Use the highest-starred modern Buu Saga unit that matches the missing role, then adjust the bench so all three battle members remain buffed.
Best Universe Rep Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
Main attacker |
Legend Super Saiyan God SS Kaioken Goku |
|
Support and sustain |
Legend Android #17 & Golden Frieza |
|
Defensive or control slot |
SP God of Destruction Toppo |
|
Bench priorities |
Universe Rep health, mixed offenses, and color-specific Zenkai buffs |
Legend SSB Kaioken Goku starts with an almost-full Time Type Unique Gauge. His attacks can consume part of it for stronger attacks and protection against combo-breaking actions. His Ultimate can consume the full gauge for an enormous finisher, and on top of it, his endurance gives the party a safety net. The mistake I see with this team is treating Kaioken Goku's gauge like a resource that must always stay full. Spending it on the timely Strike or Blast can be better than hoarding it for an Ultimate that never lands.
Best Fusion Warrior Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
All-around core |
Legend Super Saiyan God Shallet |
|
Main combo attacker |
Legend Super Vegito |
|
Leader or flex |
Your strongest compatible Ultra or modern Fusion Warrior |
|
Bench priorities |
Fusion Warrior health, offenses, and direct Zenkai buffs for the core |
Fusion Warrior is not an automatic win as it once was, but its best versions can still bury an opponent under one extended sequence. Legend Super Saiyan God Shallet is the centerpiece - it has insane damage and defensive tools. Super Vegito is the obvious partner for him. Their shared tags keep the bench clean, and both characters can turn one won interaction into major damage. Fusion Warrior’s playstyle rewards aggressive players, but it is easy to overextend. Once you secure priority, you always have to think which character actually needs field time.
Best GT Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
Primary attacker |
Ultra Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku |
|
Secondary attacker and utility |
Ultra Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta |
|
Support or defensive flex |
Best high-starred modern GT unit |
|
Bench priorities |
GT health, Saiyan offenses, and direct Zenkai buffs |
GT remains competitive because its two-Ultra core is difficult to contain. Ultra Super Full Power Saiyan 4 Goku dishes out damage, and Ultra Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta adds another powerful win condition through his Switch Attack mechanics.
This is also one of the teams where stars matter a lot. If one Ultra is only at five stars but an older GT unit is limit-broken and has excellent unique equipment, the latter might actually be better.
Best Game Originals Team
|
Role |
Character |
|---|---|
|
Main core |
Legend Super Saiyan God Shallet |
|
Combo and tag pressure |
Legend Super Saiyan Trunks (Teen) & Gohan |
|
Leader or defensive flex |
Best account-specific modern unit |
|
Bench priorities |
Game Originals, Saiyan, Future, or hybrid buffs that reach the full core |
Game Originals received a major buff during the eighth anniversary. Both Shallet and Legend Super Saiyan Trunks & Gohan were featured as part of the anniversary's original-story content, giving players a modern alternative to the usual anime-saga teams.
Best Dragon Ball Legends Team for Beginners
Realistically, new players can’t have access to 6 stars right away. Start with a strong featured character of a current banner, then build around one of that character's supported tags. A sensible early account’s team is assembled somewhat like this:
-
Choose one recently released carry with a flexible Z-Ability.
-
Add two battle members who share at least one supported tag.
-
Put a health-buff character on the bench.
-
Fill the remaining bench slots with Z-Abilities that affect all three fighters.
-
Add a Zenkai buffer only when its element and tag requirements match the intended target.
-
Farm three usable pieces of equipment for each regular battle member before chasing perfect upgrades.
Do not spread your resources across five unrelated tags - you really want to get one finished team first. Lineage of Evil and Universe Rep are the easier-to-build archetypes right now because Android #17 & Golden Frieza can support several tags, and Shallet gives Fusion Warrior and Game Originals players a flexible centerpiece.
Best Bench Characters and Zenkai Buffs
You have to adapt your bench depending on your core's tags, colors, and star levels. Use the following priority order:
-
Health Z-Ability: One health buffer is usually more valuable than anything else you can play.
-
Full-core Z-Abilities
-
Relevant Zenkai Abilities: The buff must match both the required color and tag.
-
Strike or Blast focus
-
Defensive balance: PvP teams must survive losing priority.
Before every Ranked session, open the details screen and verify each Z-Ability individually. That thirty-second check catches more team-building mistakes than copying a different bench from a screenshot.
