GTA Online Secret Weapons
There are many kinds of cool weapons in GTA Online, from basic pistols to assault rifles, rocket launchers, and even a railgun. Usually, you can get weapons in Ammunation or Gun Van. But what if I tell you there are secret weapons you can’t buy anywhere? That’s right, you can only unlock these weapons by completing challenges or participating in events. In total, there are 6 secret weapons, and in this guide, we’ll dive deeper into this. I’ll show you how to unlock all secret weapons in GTA Online and even get some money out of it. Let’s get into it!
How To Unlock All Secret Weapons In GTA Online
As I mentioned already, there are currently 6 secret weapons in GTA Online. How hard they are to get depends on the weapon. Some of them are easily obtainable if you know where to look and what to do, while others are much more challenging to get.
Perico Pistol
Perico Pistol is probably the easiest secret weapon you can get in GTA Online. Not only is this a secret weapon, but a real easter egg too. It’s a replica of the pistol that Scaramanga used in The Man with the Golden Gun, the James Bond movie. You can find this pistol in Juan Strickler's private office during the Cayo Perico Heist Finale, inside El Rubio's desk. But you can’t open the drawer and get this gun right away. To do that, you need to find a special key first. The key can be found on the body of a sleeping Cayo Perico Guard in various locations. Here’s the map of all possible Perico Pistol key locations.
Usually, you can find them near the liquor store, but not always. It’s a single-shot weapon, just like the Marksman Pistol, however the reload speed is significantly faster. You can fire 3 shots, while the same time is needed for the Marksman Pistol to fire just 1. Perico Pistol takes 2 shots in the body and 1 headshot to take down other players. Keep in mind that this isn’t an MK2 weapon, and there are no upgrades for it. Overall, it might not be the best gun in GTA Online if you care about K/D, but it’s still nice to have for fun. It looks cool and can also be used for aim training!
Combat Shotgun
One more weapon that can be found in Cayo Perico is the Combat Shotgun. It’s a fully automatic shotgun that some players might know from previous GTA games like GTA 4 Episodes from Liberty City, GTA San Andreas, and older ones. It didn’t appear on GTA 5, though, until the Cayo Perico update. Combat Shotgun can be found randomly in one of 7 different locations of the Compound.
Find it, pick it up, finish the heist, and the Combat Shotgun will be available for purchase in any Ammunation for $295,000. It’s quite expensive, but for finishing the Cayo Perico heist, you’ll get all the money needed. Unlike Perico Pistol, you need to pay to get it no matter what. After that, you can install all the basic upgrades, like a flashlight, a suppressor, etc. Combat Shotgun does a lot of damage, especially up close, but the reload speed is extremely slow. I’d say it’s the main downside of this gun. Still, it’s a much more useful secret weapon than some others on this list.
Stone Hatchet
Another weird GTA Online weapon that might not be the best one in terms of usefulness, but it actually has a unique ability called Rampage. After killing a player or NPC, you enter Stone Hatchet Rampage, which makes you nearly immortal for 12 seconds. Stone Hatchet is a promotional RDR 2 weapon that can be unlocked by completing five Bounty Target missions. All target locations are random. You’ll have a choice of either killing them for $5000 or bringing them to Maude for $10000. To knock them off, I recommend using a nightstick because other melee weapons, like a baseball bat or a knife, will kill them. Once you’re done with 5 Bounty Target missions, the yellow treasure chest icon will appear on the map. Go there, and you’ll unlock the Stone Hatchet. Claiming the weapon also unlocks the Kills Challenge, which you can complete for an additional $250K bonus.
Double-Action Revolver
Next up is Double-Action Revolver. It is another promotional RDR 2 secret weapon that you can get in GTA Online. To unlock it, you have to receive an email from “[email protected]” on your phone first. Keep in mind that it can take a while to get the email (sometimes it can take over an hour of staying in the session). Once you receive the email, the yellow circle on the map will appear. Go there, find the note, and the Treasure Hunt will begin. In total, there are 3 clue locations:

Once you visit all 3 locations, the yellow treasure chest icon will appear on the map. Head over there and the Double-Action Revolver is all yours! Now you can also complete the Headshot Challenge (50 headshots) in Freemode for a $250,000 reward.
Navy Revolver
Another cross-game promotion. By obtaining this weapon in GTA Online and getting 50 kills with it, you can actually get extra $200k bonus and unlock the secret Lowry’s Revolver in RDR Online as well. But let’s focus on GTA Online. First, to get the Navy Revolver, you need to find 5 clues that are spread across Blaine County:
1. Clue #1 - Great Chaparral
2. Clue #2 - Sandy Shores Airfield
3. Clue #3 - Grapeseed
4. Clue #4 - Paleto Forest
5. Clue #5 - 1 of 4 Random Spots
When you find the last location, the message will pop up with the warning that the killer is after you. Head over to the Sandy Shores Airfield between the time of 7 PM and 5 AM. When the killer appears, kill him, and Navy Revolver is yours.
Service Carbine (M16 Rifle)
Last but not least is Service Carbine. This is the hardest secret weapon to unlock in GTA Online in my opinion. To do that, you need to trigger 5 random events across Los Santos and Blaine County and collect gun parts. They appear as blue dots on the map. I will show you all possible locations on this map:
Finding each part will award you with $5000, $55,000 for the last part, and when all of them are collected, the rifle will be added to the weapon wheel immediately. You install all basic upgrades, but unfortunately, there’s no MK2 upgrade. That means no special ammo for Service Carbine. It’s worth mentioning that you can actually buy this weapon in Ammunation for $370,000. But that’s too expensive, and getting it for free is not only more fun, but also better for new players. In my opinion, it’s the second best assault rifle in the game after Special Carbine MK2.
