Best Professions in WoW Forever Ranked

Best Professions in WoW Forever

Before covering the changes, let’s get straight to the tier list. The rankings below consider the revamped value of professions based on how impactful they are to the gameplay and how profitable they could be. Engineering remains first, but other professions are much closer to it in value than before:

Rank

Profession

Why It Ranks Here

1

Engineering

Strong combat devices and convenient bind-on-equip items you simply can’t replace with any other prof

2

Alchemy

Consumable demand is always high, plus we got 29 new recipes to get useful combat effects

3

Enchanting

New enchantments, more enchantment slots, and craftable equipment - all of these make the profession an extremely good choice

4

Blacksmithing

Powerful armor, camp facilities, and valuable rare plans are all good reasons to pick this prof

5

Tailoring

School-specific caster sets, reagent bags, and bind-on-equip gear

6

Leatherworking

Armor kits and gear remain useful for several classes

7

Herbalism

Supplies Alchemy and supports repeated consumable production

8

Mining

Feeds into Blacksmithing, Engineering, and high-level metal recipes, so you’re bound to get decent money doing it

9

Skinning

Accessible materials, although likely facing weaker demand; mostly an RP choice for me

What Are the Profession Changes in WoW Forever?

WoW Forever completely overhauls professions, adding over 600 new recipes spread across different skill levels. That means crafting will matter while leveling, inside dungeons, and after reaching the level cap. Several new recipes also break old Classic conventions. Cooking food provides bonus XP now, which is huge. First Aid can remove Bleeds, Diseases, and Poisons. Enchanters can craft actual equipment, and Blacksmiths gain powerful bind-on-pickup armor. The expansion also introduces several interconnected profession systems:

  • Advanced Blueprints from specific dungeon bosses

  • Profession workspaces created through Camping

  • Legacy perks that improve crafting and gathering across your characters

  • Merchant’s Favor earned through material deliveries, similar to the system we got in Retail

  • New recipes using familiar Classic materials

  • More bind-on-equip crafted equipment

  • Useful Cooking and First Aid progression

I think that the biggest shift is how impactful crafting is now. Players no longer need to reach maximum level before starting to start crafting useful, in-demand stuff.
