Buried City Map Guide – ARC Raiders

Buried City is the most tightly packed outdoor map. It’s a deserted city covered in sand with several multi-story buildings loaded with loot. I’ve run it dozens of times, and in this article, I’ll cover the map’s layout and its best loot spots for you to navigate it effectively.

Buried City Map Guide – ARC Raiders TL;DR

  • Buried City is split into four clear zones: Outskirts, West Village, Old Town, and the New District.

  • Outskirts is quiet and low-risk, with mostly industrial loot and two warehouses.

  • West Village is a safe residential loot zone, with strong loot inside Grandioso Apartments.

  • Old Town has solid residential loot, but heavier ARC pressure, making rooftop-oriented play important.

Buried City Map Overview

Before I start covering individual POIs, let’s do a general Buried City map overview first. The map is split into 4 zones in-game, and this split is very accurate and handy for you to memorize what’s where:

  • There’s Outskirts, a place on the top right corner of the map, where you won’t find much loot, and there are little to no ARCs roaming the place. The loot is mostly industrial, and the locations worth visiting are two warehouses.

  • West Village is right under the Outskirts. Here, you’ll find the large Grandioso Apartments building and several 2 to 3-story buildings. Loot is very good since it’s residential - you’ll find weapons, trinkets, blueprints, and other valuables. ARC threat is also very low in here; a Leaper might spawn right underneath the Grandioso Apartments, but it’s very easy to take it out using height advantage. Leapers are especially vulnerable on this map - they only effective at the open-field encounter, and I can consistently kill them without taking any damage.

  • Old Town is to the right of the West Village, and it’s another apartment district filled with Residential loot. ARC threat is intense here - you can encounter Leapers, Bombardiers, Bastions, as well as occasional Surveryors. Once again, they are easy to take out using the building’s elevation. I bring several grenades and weapons with decent armor piercing every game, just to farm them for Coins if I see them along the way.

  • The most loot and, consequently, action-packed place on the map is the New District. There are several buildings marked as high-value zones next to each other, resulting in the place being contested by multiple players at once, and they are not always nice. There are Bombardier, Bastion, and Leaper spawns in this part of the map, and you can comfortably dispose of them from the height using the buildings' windows.

The map is great for ARC Cores farming IMO. The only worry is third-party threats from other players, and you will encounter many of them because of the dense high-value zones. Outskirts are usually not contested, and players tend to rush to the center of the map, resulting in headclashes in compact apartment areas, which do not always end well. Best Places to Loot in Buried City

Buried City is the place you’ll extract out of with full bags, regardless of where you go, with how many loot containers there are.  I haul out 50k + of loot consistently, running short 10 min loot paths. Of course, some spots are better than others, so let’s cover each one separately:

#1. Library

Library - ARC Raiders Buried CIty Map

The Library is on the edge of the New District and is often overlooked by players rushing to the Hospital and Space Travel. You’ll find dozens of lockers in the halls, many library-themed drawers with what feels like increased blueprint spawn rates, suitcases, and some industrial containers, too. There’s next to no ARCs present in the building; you’ll encounter a couple of Pops, Fireballs, Ticks, and a Turret at the building’s entrance. It’s super comfy to kill a Leaper or a Bastion spawning nearby from the building’s rooftop, so you might add their loot to your haul if you’re feeling confident. There’s a subway extract point right next to the building.

#2. Grandioso Apartments

This location consists of two large buildings connected by ziplines and small, self-made bridges. You’ll find tons of residential loot here in kitchen drawers, cupboard cabinets, and other containers scattered throughout the building. Few Fireballs and Pops may spawn inside, but otherwise, if there are no other players around, it’s a safe and lucrative location that’s always worth checking out if you spawn next to it. The Metro entrance extraction point is right around the corner for you to get your loot out.

#3. Hospital

The Hospital is a basic loot location - many players go there right at the start of the game. As expected, it’s a source of medical loot type, and a great place to search for blueprints of medical items. There are also several office drawers and a locker room filled with lootable containers, making this a great place to find many great items. Just like with other looting points, the main threat here is other players. After looting up, you can either extract from the raider hatch or use the subway extract located nearby. #4. Space Travel

The most contested place on the map is Space Travel. It’s marked red on the map, pointing to how abundant the loot is. You’ll find several floors of office containers, which spawn many trinkets, industrial loot, and blueprints. Always a place worth checking out, especially if you spawn nearby, which’ll happen quite often. Extraction points are almost the same as the Hospital’s, but you may want to cross the park and go to the less contested Park extract.

#5. Old Town

Old Town - ARC Raiders Buried CIty Map

The Old Town area is an odd one. While it’s not as packed as the New District is, there are lots of ARC and Players here all the time, at least in my experience. There are many residential loot spawns in the buildings, so you might get something nice, but the place feels less lucrative compared to the loot spots I’ve listed above. What this location is great for is farming ARC cores, since there are many ARC enemy types spawning here, and they are easy to shoot at from the Town’s rooftops. 

Buried City Enemies

Packed with action, Buried City is home to many ARC types:

  • Wasps

  • Hornet

  • Pop

  • Fireball

  • Turret

  • Bombardier

  • Leaper

  • Rocketeer

  • Bastion

  • Sentinel

  • Surveyor

This huge roster of enemies makes Buried City an excellent place to hunt down the ARCs you need for quests and crafts, and, once again, the map's layout makes it easy to take them down.
