What Is FUT Champions in FC 27?

FUT Champions is the most competitive mode in FC 27 Ultimate Team. After qualifying, you enter a 15-match Finals campaign and earn a rank based on how many matches you win. Better ranks get you more Coins and Champions Tokens, which can then be exchanged for the rewards of your choice.

Champions is still a much tougher mode than Rivals, with much fiercer competition. Most opponents get in with great formations, properly chosen Chemistry Styles, and at least one backup tactic. That makes entering with an improvised weaker team cost you matches and rewards.

How to Qualify for FC 27 FUT Champions

Season 1 requires you to get 1,000 Champions Qualification Points, usually shortened to CQP. These points can be earned by playing Division Rivals or Squad Battles; here’s how it works:

  1. Enter Ultimate Team and play Rivals or Squad Battles.

  2. Earn Champions Qualification Points from eligible matches and rewards.

  3. Continue until you reach the current 1,000-point requirement.

  4. Redeem your qualification when the Champions campaign becomes available.

  5. Enter Finals and complete up to 15 matches before the event closes.

Higher Rivals divisions remain the fastest route because they provide more CQP. However, there is no longer a minimum division blocking your progress. If you have enough points, you can qualify. Just make sure to not redeem your entry unless you are actually ready to play the campaign, or you won’t be able to complete all matches and get the full rewards.

How FC 27 Champions Finals Works

Champions Finals gives you a maximum of 15 matches, with every victory moving you up one rank, while a loss does not add rank progress. There are 15 reward ranks, beginning with Rank 15 for one win and ending with Rank 1 for a perfect 15-win campaign. The important detail is that matches cannot finish as draws. If the score is level after regulation, the match continues through extra time and penalties until there is a winner.

The current FC 27 Champions calendar places campaigns between Friday and Monday, although EA can extend individual events later in the cycle. Your rewards become available when you complete the entire campaign, but if you leave some matches unplayed, you’ll have to wait all the way until the end of an event to get your rewards.

It’s important to know that Champions matchmaking considers factors such as your location, platform, and current campaign form. The opponent will never be completely predictable, but a strong run generally produces tougher matches. That is why starting 4-0 feels different from starting 2-2, the game will throw some absolute beasts to try and knock you down.

FUT Champions Ranks and Rewards

The current structure is extremely straightforward: one win equals one rank. The current Champions reward list includes guaranteed Coins and Champions Tokens instead of forcing every player into the same pack bundle.

The largest reward jumps begin around nine wins. Rank 7 gets you 25,000 Coins and 110 Tokens, which is enough to choose between several worthwhile Token Store options. Eleven wins is another strong target with a huge reward spike because Rank 5 raises the payout to 50,000 Coins and 165 Tokens.

Personally, I would be happy with nine wins; that’s a very solid result for the average competitive player. Eleven plus is a real sweat zone, and 13 to 15 is a range where unholy creatures reside. Chasing the perfect run is fine, but it should not make a respectable 9-6 finish feel like a completely failed weekend.

How Champions Tokens Work

Champions Tokens are a separate reward currency earned from Finals. The main Season 1 choices are:

125

5x 86+ Untradeable Players

100

10x 84+ Untradeable Players or an 82+ Tradeable TOTW Pick

75

10x 83+ Tradeable Players or 2x 86+ Tradeable Players

50

85+ Untradeable Pick, TOTW Pick, or 20x 81+ Tradeable Players

25

5x 82+ Tradeable Players, 10x 80+ Tradeable Players, or one Tradeable TOTW Player

15

83+ Tradeable Player Pick, 10x 75+ Untradeable Players, or exclusive Celebration

5

2x 77+ Tradeable Players

Make sure to always check every reward’s expiry timer before saving Tokens. Store options and values can change with the season, and you do not want to save up tokens for an offer that is about to disappear.

Best Squad Setup for FUT Champions

Champions are sweatier than Rivals, so weak teams get crushed quickly. You need players who fit the positions and roles you actually use, not simply the eleven highest ratings in your club. A balanced 4-2-3-1 Wide is a balanced universal option, but whatever formation you choose, I would always bring:

  • One fast substitute attacker for tired defensive lines.

  • One flexible midfielder who can play CM, CDM, or CAM.

  • One defensive substitute capable of covering center-back or full-back.

  • A second tactical preset that changes the shape instead of only raising the line.

  • A conservative preset for protecting a lead during the final 20 minutes.

Never spend the entire budget on attackers. A slightly cheaper striker with two reliable center-backs is usually better for Champions than a superstar forward sitting above a defense you cannot even get control of.
