Fortnite Save the World Heroes
Heroes in Save the World aren’t just husks for players to inhabit. They all have their own abilities, and with hundreds of Heroes available, it can become a real problem to choose a Hero that’s going to be effective, and trust me, you want them to be effective. While there are so many, you can boil down the Heroes to four categories:

Soldier: Typical boots on the ground class. Buff your teammates with Warcry, shred your enemies with a minigun, and throw grenades. Easiest class for newbies.

Ninja: Melee-focused nimble class. They have a double jump, buffed melee, and shurikens.

Outlander: Kind of a support class. You go around the map farming resources, and most of your DPS comes from your Teddy Bear that shoots enemies for you, and the Shock Tower that zaps the enemies nearby and also does some damage.

Constructor: Arguably the strongest Hero type in Fortnite Save the World. They build bases and reinforce them, and in a game where you build defenses against hordes, you learn to value Constructors really fast. Their abilities allow them to build walls, heal them, and you have a turret named Rosie to protect your walls from afar.
Each of these archetypes has tons of Heroes, so I’ll focus on the strongest of them. It’s impossible to list all heroes and not turn this article into a book. The list of meta heroes in Fortnite Save the World that I present below is purely subjective, so if you have other opinions on that, that’s completely fine. I constantly argue with my friends about who they consider to be the best characters in STW. Let’s jump to my personal top now.
Best Soldier Heroes in Fortnite Save the World
Soldiers’ task is to be the raw damage power and take out mini bosses. There are many soldiers I consider to be exceptionally strong, but I had to trim the list for the sake of brevity, so you can be sure that the soldiers below are the best soldiers in Fortnite Save the World:

Special Forces Heroes |
Any of the three Special Forces, whether it's Jonesy, Banshee, or Ramirez, is absolutely bonkers. It's mainly due to their War Cry ability, which I mentioned before. Increasing your damage and movement speed by 25% is no joke, and it's always nice to have such a buff in any team. |

Stars and Stripes Jonesy |
This hero increases your DPS indirectly. His perk makes it so that each AR or SMG shot fired has a chance to be refunded. This may not sound that great, but in reality, this perk procs so often that you basically have an infinite mag. |

Sledgehammer / Rescue Trooper Ramirez |
Different perks, same damage output. Sledgehammer boosts your crit damage from ARs and SMGs, and Rescue Trooper Ramirez increases your AR and SMG raw damage. If you have someone who can boost either crits or raw damage, choose between these two. Ramirez, I'd say, is more consistent. |

Shrapnel Headhunter / Buckshot Raptor |
Same as above, but this time for shotguns. Headhunter buffs your overall shotgun damage, and Buckshot ups your crit damage on shotguns. |

Amazing Hero soldier to pair up with others, especially with Diecast Jonesy. His perk decreases your minigun cooldown by 30/66%, depending on whether you use him as a support or as a Commander. |

Diecast Jonesy |
Another great soldier for minigunmaxxing. His perk makes your minigun damage go up by 25%, or if you're using him as a Commander, then it increases the damage by 50% and changes the damage type to Energy. Pair this hero with Commando Spitfire. Always. They're that good together. |

Chaos Agent |
One of the strongest soldiers in Fortnite Save the World. The perk allows him to reload his weapon instantly, and if you use him as a Commander, he also summons a phantasm based on how empty your clip was. This works anytime you can reload your mag without reloading it manually, so Warcry procs it as well. |

Breakbeat Wildcat |
In my opinion, she has one of the strongest damage buff perks in the entire game. Every 10 enemies eliminated grants you a 9-second buff that increases your damage by 50% and melee speed by 32%, which then falls off. Commander lowers the enemy count to just 4, but even without the Commander perk, she's insanely strong. |
The list above doesn’t follow any direct pattern where the heroes located at the top of the list are automatically better than the ones that are placed lower. In fact, if you are a new player who’s thinking of spending their Hero Voucher, I’d recommend taking Chaos Agent.
Best Ninja Heroes in Fortnite Save the World
Ninjas are like melee soldiers. They are more nimble, but their main priority is DPS. They have some strong perks that increase melee damage, but I gotta say they’re not as strong as some other Hero archetypes. But then again, this list contains some of the most broken heroes in Fortnite Save the World, so don’t ignore it:

Has one of the best abilities in the game, Dragon Slash. This ability will help you to mow down enemies, especially combined with Ninja supports. He's not as strong as the previously mentioned ninjas, but he's still up there. |

Stoneheart Farah |
Her AoE damage is just nasty. She's not just a good ninja, she's easily one of the best heroes in Fortnite Save the World. Her perk buffs her Bow and lets her deal extra damage to the enemies around the original target. Constant AoE damage with no conditions is just too good and can easily be buffed even further. |
If you’re looking to start playing as a Ninja, I strongly recommend picking Paleo Luna or Stonheart Farah. They’re good even if they don’t fulfill any of the extra conditions, but with them, they become outright broken. Their damage makes me shake my head in disbelief sometimes.
Best Outlanders in Fortnite Save the World
Outlanders are kind of unusual. They are like a middle ground between supporting and DPS Heroes, but mostly they are supports. I personally never enjoyed playing as an Outlander cause a lot of their gameplay is farming the resources that your Constructors and the rest of the team need. For me, this was never too exciting. But then again, some of the Outlanders can outdamage even Ninjas and Soldiers, not speaking of the buffs they give to their team. Here are the best Outlanders in Save the World:

She's essential for farming. If it doesn't seem that strong, play her and realize how much use she actually brings during the game. |

Crossbones Barret |
The coconuts are absolutely broken. You have a chance to find coconuts in containers that immediately heal you and then apply a healing effect for 30 seconds, but not only that, they also grant a damage boost of 16% if he's a support and 36% if he's a Commander! Not just weapon damage, any damage you deal. |

Fossil Southie |
One of the big three, consisting of Clip, Archaeolo-Jess, and him. His ability lets you recharge energy when your shield is depleted. Combined with the “Blast from the Past” team perk, his own perk becomes insanely broken. |

Pathfinder Jess |
Best beginner hero in Fortnite Save the World. If you're just starting out in the game and never played STW before it became free to play, you should go for Pathfinder Jess. Her perk allows her to deal 50% more damage with a Pickaxe. It's very useful for farming and speeds it up significantly. Her class perks are very well-rounded and tie into her pickaxe prowess. |
Outlanders have a lot of viable Heroes that are generally always useful, no matter who you pick, but I highly recommend picking Clip as your first Hero. As I said above, she’s probably the best character in Fortnite STW. This is an opinion that most people who play the mode will share with me.
Best Constructors in Fortnite Save the World
Last, but definitely not least, are the Constructors. The most important Hero archetype in the game. It’s possible to withhold horde waves without Constructors, but Constructors just bring everything to the next level. To put it bluntly, a party of Constructors is much stronger than any other party. Base building in this game is super fun and strong, and allows for a lot of creativity. Below are the strongest Constructors in Fortnite that push an already strong archetype even further:

This unassuming Hero is among the best constructors in Fortnite Save the World simply due to the fact that he buffs building health by 80% if slotted as Commander. This is nothing to scoff at and will change how you play immediately. |

Combined with Kyle, they make sure that your base never breaks. You need just one of them, not both Power B.A.S.E. Heroes, mind you. Their Commander perk heals your buildings by 11% of their max health every 10 seconds. |

Has a very simple perk that extends your base further. His commander perk allows you to extend the range of your base by 3 in every direction. If you're going to be playing a Constructor build, he should be there no matter what. Especially if you take Supercharged Traps. |

Ice King |
Amazing Constructor both as a Commander and a support. If he's a support, enemies get slowed on your base, and if he's a Commander, the enemies freeze when attacking your buildings. Combined with B.A.S.E. Kyle and Power B.A.S.E. Knox or Penny, your base just becomes indestructible. |

Prehistoric Izza |
The best support Hero in Fortnite Save the World. The reason is that her perk boosts your Armor by 33. It's wild. It becomes really hard for you to die when she's on the team. |
The easiest recommendation I can give is to get B.A.S.E. Kyle as soon as possible, as he’s the base on which every other Constructor builds, pardon the pun. His Commander perk is impossible to replace, and you won’t go as far without him. All meta comps include him as a part of it.
