1. Ace
Ace is the most versatile and easiest to choose attacker of the bunch. His Aqua Breacher can open reinforced walls, hatches, floors, and ceilings without you coming close. The charge can even roll down and deploy more than once, which makes it one of the best hard-breach gadgets in the game. On top of that, he uses the AK-12, which is the top meta attacker gun that most players will be happy with.
That combination of a strong and easy-to-use gadget and a reliable gun makes him one of the best choices for beginners, in my opinion. Playing him, you can focus on the tactical aspect of the game, learn maps, etc., without paying too much attention to handling your gun and figuring out how to use the gadget best. A recent Six Invitational had Ace as one of the two most-picked attackers, which lines up with how often he still anchors attack setups. In my experience, whenever I open up a random Siege stream, I see a streamer playing Ace half of the time, and if he’s not picked, he’s banned.
2. Grim
Grim has become one of the best map-control attackers of the current meta. His Kawan Hive Launcher’s swarms are invaluable in gathering site info, and it’s so easy to hit them. He also uses the 552 Commando, which is a great gun you love to see available on the character.
I think what makes Grim so strong is how practical his gadget is in real rounds - you can clean out corners easily, place the swarms almost like mines of sort and cut off roamer routes. He’s also a frequent pick at the high level of play, which means he’s considered to be a reliable pick by the best players in the game.
3. Deimos
Deimos fills a role similar to Grim - his DeathMARK Tracker sends out a flying probe that marks a chosen defender for Deimos while also revealing Deimos’ position. While tracking, he is limited to the .44 Vendetta, and that tradeoff is the main drawback of the operator. He also has access to the AK-74M, which is a great gun.
4. Dokkaebi
Dokkaebi is still one of the best attackers for punishing lazy defender movement. Her Logic Bomb hacks defender devices and forces them to ring out loud, which gives your team instant audio intel and makes roamers job way harder. She also gains access to defenders' cameras on kills, which is an outstanding intel source later in the game. Her current loadout includes the Mk 14 EBR or BOSG.12.2, with the SMG-12, which is an outstanding kit to have.
The gadget is already strong, but the weapons loadout, which is one of the best in the game, makes her more than just an info bot. The Mk 14 EBR gives her an outstanding long-range option, and BOSG is a great close-range alternative. In ranked, one good Logic Bomb can expose the entire enemy team and create picks out of nowhere.
5. Solid Snake
When I first saw the guy in R6, I thought it was a skin, but we got something way better. Solid Snake is very new, but he already feels like one of the best attack picks. His Soliton Radar Mk. III gives him a handheld radar that marks nearby hostiles, and its precision mode can accurately pinpoint the opps, though it also alerts enemies that they have been detected. Should I even say that this gadget is busted? On top of that, he can scavenge throwables and gadgets from downed operators, which gives him near infinite value; there is simply nothing else like this in the game.
His arsenal is excellent too, with the iconic F2, PMR90A2, and TACIT.45. That is a stacked kit to put it lightly - Snake helps with recon and can fetch extra utility out of nowhere in the middle of the round. The F2 also means he is not sacrificing any amount of gun quality to bring all that utility. I’d recommend you check out his wiki page - his kit is pretty complicated.
6. Montagne
Montagne earns this spot because he can completely change how defenders have to play, and in lower ranks, you can completely overwhelm your opponents by yourself. Your playstyle should be somewhat similar to the big recon drone - you remove the obstacles, you walk in, spot the enemy positions, distract your enemies, and bait out fire and grenades.
Good Montange takes lots of space and makes it easy for his teammates to do their job. That’s the weakness of this operator, though, if your teammates are not good, you’re going to have a bad time.
7. Striker
Striker is one of the best glue picks for ranked. Ubisoft’s official operator page says Striker has access to all attacker secondary gadgets, which is an insane playmaking potential. With the M4 and M249 as primaries, he has a solid weapon arsenal, too, M4 normally being the default pick of the bunch.
Gadget flexibility is exactly why Striker is so useful - you can cover whatever your team needs. If you don’t know what to pick in solo queue and just want a specific gadget, Striker is always there for you. Striker got many changes over the years, so you can check out the official character notes if you’ve not played for a while.
8. Twitch
Twitch is still one of the most efficient utility-clear attackers in Siege, even after all these years of being viable. Her RSD Model 1 Shock Drone is both an intel and defense gadget removal, and, on top of that, she also keeps excellent weapon options with the F2, 417, and SG-CQB.
9. Hibana
Hibana remains one of the most flexible hard breachers in the game. Her launcher remains very useful in creating pathways and unexpected lines of sight. She has access to Type-89 and PMR90A2, which are both great to play in the current meta.
She is mainly valuable amongst other breachers because she does not need to walk up directly to her target the way Thermite does. Overall, I’d say her main specialty is just opening up holes and breaking setups until enemies don’t know where they’re going to be hit from.
10. Maverick
Maverick rounds out the list because his torch still gives attackers a unique answer to almost every form of reinforced denial - all without making much sound. He also has the M4 and AR-15.50 as his weapons, which are both great in their own niche.
He is great into Bandit, Kaid, and Tubarão picks - their setups are getting almost completely useless against him, because he can force the wall playable through mechanics rather than pure gadget trade. He also has a unique sneaky option to silently create smaller holes in surfaces to shoot the enemies from.
