Best Fishing Spots in Fortnite 2026

Sunken Shores and Cluster Coast are the two spots I’d check first if fishing is the main goal of the game. Sunken Shores is especially good because it is a southern coastal POI, while Cluster Coast sits on the southeast edge of the Shattered Coast region. Both have enough water access nearby to make scanning for Golden Fishing Spots feel effortless, so you can just quickly go around in a car or using other traversal options and spot the spots worth fishing. 

S-Tier Fishing Spots

Sunken Shores

Sunken Shores is my top fishing spot in Fortnite 2026. It has the most important thing a fishing route needs: water everywhere, lots of it. Since this POI is built around a flooded area, you can loot up while scanning for ripples easily since the sightlines are not obscured.

There is also a nice bonus here: Elite Daigo can be found at Sunken Shores and works as a Medic Specialist. So you can both try your luck fishing and get yourself a useful sidekick while at it.  It’s pretty crowded when I'm landing here, though, so if you’re trying to avoid PvP, maybe this place is not the best for you.

Cluster Coast

Cluster Coast is the best fishing spot if you want more action. It sits on the southeast edge of Shattered Coast, which makes it naturally good for coastal fishing routes. You can land, loot the POI, check the waterline, and then rotate along the coast looking for golden ripples.

The downside is obvious: more players. Cluster Coast is themed, visible, and attractive enough that you should expect company. If you land here, do not run straight to the rod barrel like a defenseless NPC. Grab a weapon first, secure shields, then fish once you know you are not about to get deleted by someone with a shotgun and no respect for marine life.

A-Tier Fishing Spots

Calamari Canyon Fishing Hut

Calamari Canyon is one of the better fishing routes because you can use the northwestern fishing hut instead of diving straight into the whole POI. That makes it a nice middle ground between “I want loot” and “I don’t want six people landing directly on my forehead.”

John Wick NPC is also located near the northwestern fishing hut around Calamari Canyon, which makes this spot more valuable than just any random water edge. If you are landing nearby, you can fish, loot, and potentially hire him as a Heavy Specialist depending on your route and gold situation.

I like this spot more in solos and duos than in squads. It is compact enough to clear quickly, but not always large enough to support a full team fishing for ages. Land, loot, check the water, and move. Do not spend half the match pretending this is Animal Crossing.

Heatwave Harbor Docks

Heatwave Harbor is a classic industrial port-style POI with high buildings and dock access, which means you can gear up decently enough first and then check nearby water after the first fights are over.

This is not the spot I’d pick if your only goal is peaceful fishing. It is better for players who want to play a normal match while still checking Golden Fishing Spots along the way. Loot first, win your early fight, then fish. Heatwave Harbor is also a good squads route because the area has enough structure and loot to support multiple players. You also have high roofs here so that one player can watch out for enemies while another is fishing.

Birder’s Beach

Birder’s Beach is another safer route because it is a landmark rather than a major named POI. Smaller landmarks have less loot, but they also attract fewer players, which is exactly what you want if your goal is hunting Golden Fishing Spots or Fishy Sprite farming.

The tradeoff is simple: lower pressure, lower backup loot value. If the fishing spots are bad, you may be forced to rotate quickly to a bigger POI with empty hands. I would not spend too long here unless you see golden ripples early.

This is a good drop for players who hate chaotic first fights. Land, grab a rod, check the water, take what you get, and leave before the storm makes your decisions for you.

B-Tier Fishing Spots

Dine ‘n Docks

Dine ‘n Docks is a solid backup fishing route. It is not my first choice, but it has the one thing every fishing location needs: water access. Since it is a landmark, it can be useful when the bus path makes larger coastal POIs too crowded.

The main issue is that smaller spots are less reliable. You may find a barrel, a few fishing pools, and a decent rotation. You may also find nothing exciting and question your life choices. That is just fishing in Fortnite.

Use Dine ‘n Docks as a low-risk backup, not your main strategy. It is better when you are passing through than when you are building your entire match around it.

Golden Grove River Edge

Golden Grove itself is not a fishing-focused POI, but the surrounding map position can make nearby river or water routes useful for mid-game fishing. I would not land here only to fish, but I would absolutely check nearby water if I’m rotating through and still need a Fishy Sprite or Golden Fishing Spot.

This is the kind of spot that works best when you are flexible. Do not force it. If the zone pulls away, rotate. If you see golden ripples, stop and fish. Simple.

Random Inland Ponds

Random ponds can sometimes get you insane loot and sprites, but they are not reliable enough to rank any higher. Use random ponds whenever you see the gold, but otherwise they’re not worth targeting.

If you are specifically farming Fishy Sprite or rare gold spot loot, random ponds are not the play. You really want to target proper Fishing Spots, especially golden ripple spots, because those are the ones with the best payoff.

How to Get Fishy Sprite from Fishing Spots

Fishy Sprite became an instant hit due to its iconic look and decently usable ability, which makes you swim faster and even get some fighting value due to a reactive movement buff whenever you get shot. While you can get it from random loot chests, the easiest way to get Fishy Sprite is to target fishing at Fishing Spots. Look for circles on the water with fish underneath, grab equipment from nearby barrels, and cast directly into the ripple. Golden ripple spots are especially important because they can offer better loot and rare Sprite chances. The best Fishy Sprite farming loop is:

Fishy Sprite can appear in different variants, including Gold, Gummy, and Galaxy variants. The rarer the variant, the more you should prioritize extraction before another player sees you and decides your collection belongs to them now. Best Fishing Items to Use

Fishing Rods are enough for normal fishing, but Harpoons are better when you want instant yield. The Enhanced Harpoon Gun is especially useful because it lets you fish quickly and still have a weapon-like item ready if someone pushes you. It was unvaulted during the Chapter 7 Season 3 Gone Wild update, along with other fishing-related loot.
