Best LoL Jungle Tier List in 2026

There are junglers who appear great on tier lists but turn out to be total gimmicks in the heat of battle. This guide covers junglers who are actually worth playing if you want to improve your results and reduce your pain points. Below are my rankings for 2026 jungle picks, along with a few personal takes that are sure to clash with those from any other list.

Best LoL Jungle Tier List in 2026 TL;DR

  • S-Tier: Nocturne, Graves, Lee Sin, Naafiri, Viego - the most reliable junglers for climbing right now, with strong tempo and high carry potential.

  • A-Tier: Shyvana, Jarvan IV, Diana, Master Yi, Xin Zhao, Kindred, and others - strong meta picks that fit most drafts, but are more skill- or matchup-dependent.

  • B-Tier: Champions like Amumu, Poppy, Warwick, Dr. Mundo, or Zaahen are solid but less flexible junglers that can win games, just not as consistently.

  • C-Tier: Champions like Rengar, Nidalee, Gwen, Rumble, or Ivern are niche or high-commitment jungle picks that usually require comfort or much experience to feel worth it.

  • D-Tier: Morgana, Skarner, Trundle, Karthus, Jayce, Zed, Qiyana, Neeko, Malphite - off-meta junglers that rarely match the pace, pressure, or reliability of stronger options in the 2026 jungle meta.

Best LoL Jungle Tier List in 2026 - Selection Grounds

Best LoL Jungle Tier List

This is my complete jungle tier list as it stands right now. Some placements match the general meta, some definitely don’t, and that’s on purpose. I’m not trying to make the safest possible list here - I’m trying to make one that actually reflects how these champs feel in real games when you care about consistency, pressure, and solo queue carry value.

I get that people read these just for rankings, so yes, this is for you guys. Here’s the text version of my 2026 LoL jungle tier list:

Methods and Sources

I did not compile this list by simply copying over a stat page. The jungle role has far too much variance for this approach to work. These picks have been ordered according to my perceptions of reliability and viability when it comes to tempo, map pressure, and carrying potential in the mid-to-high MMR games.

Moreover, considering recent patch cycles and live statistics helped me differentiate between actual powerhouses and hyped champions, as some have become better since the latest patches, some worse, while some continue being strong due to their mechanics and design. As you understand, my personal take on this issue may significantly differ from some public tier lists.

Just so you know, this ranking system is meant to assist rather than intimidate you. It’s there to provide guidance rather than be your absolute truth; so by all means, test things out, trust your comfort picks, and have fun playing the game. You never know, you might find yourself enjoying the so-called "wrong" champ.

S-Tier

LoL Jungle Tier-list: S-Tier Picks

This is where I don't overthink at all and just admit that these champs are definitely broken. The junglers who get an S-tier ranking are the champs I have the most faith in if winning games is the main thing that matters. Their pressure, reliability, ability to carry, and practicality in solo queue cannot be beaten. Some are easier to use than others, but they are all worthwhile.

Nocturne

Nocturne is one of the easiest S-tier picks to justify and the best jungler right now. He has a simple game plan, strong tempo, and some of the most reliable punishment in the role. If someone overextends, disrespects vision, or side lanes like nothing can happen, Nocturne is there to collect.

What I like most about him is how practical he is. He doesn’t need a perfect setup or some genius-level mechanics to stay useful. Riot buffed his Q and passive in patch 26.5, and it didn’t really affect his overall performance actually - maybe just made an already strong pick feel even better. One should definitely try lethality + ability haste builds and spam their ult like every 30 seconds in the late game. He clears well, hits his spikes on time, and keeps pressure on the map almost by default. In solo queue, that kind of reliability is insanely valuable. Nocturne just works.

Graves

Graves is one of those champs I almost never fully count out, even when he gets nerfed, or people start acting like he fell off. If you know how to path, farm cleanly, and play around tempo, he still feels amazing. He has that classic carry-jungler thing where the game can start feeling unfair once he gets ahead.

What keeps him in S-tier for me is how independent he is. Graves doesn’t need to babysit lanes to stay relevant, and I love that. Riot did nerf his base damage in 26.7 after he had already been getting too much value from earlier buffs, but it didn’t really hurt his performance enough to knock him out of top-tier territory. He can powerfarm, invade, pressure the map, and still scale into a real threat. In the right hands, he feels like a jungler who gets to play his own game while everyone else is trying to survive it.

Lee Sin

Lee Sin is significantly tougher compared to other champions in the S-tier, but when you know how to play him, playing him will be so fun. This champion has everything from pressure, mobility, early-game presence, and playmaking ability that helps him dictate the flow of the game even before other junglers get going.

And I would say that he’s one of the few champions who will stay relevant no matter what changes in the meta. Even though his stats may vary from time to time, he’s a champion whose kit is designed for jungle mobility. In addition, he holds a roughly 51% win rate with an above-average pick rate, which is quite impressive for such a challenging champion. Of course, I must admit that I still have some fun playing with the lethality build of Lee when the opponents pick squishy champions. Mostly for fun, of course, but Lee, in his standard build, is simply an evergreen, reliable choice.

Naafiri

Naafiri plays jungle perfectly at the moment: clear win conditions, strong tempo, and immediate punishment for enemies' failures - everything needed for solo queue. After getting ahead, weak champions don’t stand a chance in the side lane, and the consistent kill pressure makes every resource and side lane Naafiri’s.

There is one thing that many people ignore: using early river engagements with level 3-4 with either Ignite or Exhaust to dominate crab fights. Also, she scales like crazy once she picks up her first lethality item and is able to gank mid and then bot, taking early dragons from most scaling junglers.

Viego

It wouldn't even be fair to call me unbiased when it comes to Viego, seeing how much time I've spent playing with this champion. He remains one of my favorite junglers who becomes absolutely terrifying and exciting whenever a fight starts. All that usually takes only R reset from Viego, and today his balance has finally reached that sweet spot between being extremely effective and fun.

True, he may not have the stats of other, more mainstream champions, but with the current 10%+ pick rate, he fails to boast of "broken" winrates. People seem to love his Revenant Reign visual while failing to grasp how to make good use of Viego in real plays. Still, Viego has been one of those champions that get better the more you learn about them.

A-Tier

LoL Jungle Tier-list: A-Tier Picks

A-tier junglers are definitely good and certainly worthy of being played, but personally, they come up just a little bit short compared to the top-tier choices. Some may be a little more situational, some may require better positioning in order to perform their best, but ultimately, none of them are quite as oppressive as my top picks.

It certainly wouldn’t make sense to talk about every possible jungler in this guide or take forever discussing every tier below here, since I think that realistically, most people looking at tier lists want to see the top choices first and foremost.

Shyvana

It seems Shyvana is now in a much better place compared to her state before patch 26.6. The champ rework made her feel like a jungler who can bring a lot of fun, instead of being some strange stat experiment. She farms great, scales well, and becomes a real pain in the butt when she reaches the power spike. It is clear that Riot Games wanted to add more structure to her in 26.7, but they just cut off some stats right after the rework.

Anyway, although she is definitely worth trying, after nerfs, I wouldn’t put her among the champions that I would consider S-tiers. The thing is, she is strong enough, yet not too strong. Shyvana can perform great in particular games, but doesn’t always give the same universal pressure or freedom as the absolute best jungle champs do. Her dragon skin can be very tempting - if you have never tried this champion in action, go ahead and use Practice Tool for throwing some fireballs at dummies!

Jarvan IV

There is no doubt Jarvan IV is a super-stable and super-functional jungle choice in the current meta of League of Legends. What is the point about him? Well, his versatility! You can build and play Jarvan IV as a tanky, damaging, or semi-bruiser champion. And what’s more, you will always be able to force enemy flashes and CC out any ADC with ease.

Today, Jarvan is in this nice place where he has both high play rates and a 50%+ win rate. So, there is no reason not to call Jarvan IV a tier-A jungler. He is not overpowered, nor a cheesy choice. He is a reliable champion that you can pick when you need order in your gameplay.

Diana

Diana might seem a little shy in tier list conversations before deleting two players in a dragon fight and reminding everyone that she’s still around. Her clear is rather calm, she rarely spikes, and she blends in perfectly in any game where engage is key, but also comes with solid damage as well. She’s still at an impressive 51.7% win rate in the jungle at the moment, and that’s solid.

For builds, I would go with the typical AP burst build on her when enemies offer up vulnerable targets to aim for. The Hextech Rocketbelt is my favorite for the engage-oriented build choice available on her for now, and everything else is just dependent on how you want to play. A basic pick for every occasion.

B-Tier

LoL Jungle Tier-list: B-Tier Picks

B-tier champions do have the ability to carry games. The issue is that their use is more situational and therefore less consistent compared to the junglers, who are ranked higher than they are. Some require a certain composition, others require the pace of the game to be slower, while others are just "okay".

Amumu

Amumu is about as direct as a jungler can get. He fulfills a singular role and does it extremely well: crowd control. Amumu is a straightforward crowd control machine that will help you win your fights when your team needs a jungler to engage, lock down opponents, and simply be annoying.

There is also some room for building him with damage-over-time effects or going tanky, which is pretty great to know. The thing that stops me from ranking him higher than I did is how little versatility there is to play him with. Amumu can be built to do things slightly differently, but it’s not really enough for him to be amazing.

To sum it up, I’d say he is a solid champion. Perhaps a bit too solid and a tad bit boring, but he definitely deserves a B-tier rating today.

Poppy

I honestly think that Poppy is quite a solid choice in a lot of matchups currently. Nowadays, there are just too many junglers who dash, engage forcefully, and fly towards the enemy team with zero shame, which makes life hard for them when facing Poppy since this champion can turn their moves into a total mess. It's not easy to fight against Poppy when the match goes in the right direction.

Still, Poppy can't be placed in higher than B-tier right now, even with all her potential for disrupting other players. Currently, she just isn't quite powerful enough to lead the game from the jungle. Yes, she can do wonders for you, but she won't be your win condition most likely. I’d wait for a buff before rating her any higher, and now she’s better as a support, imo.

Warwick

Warwick is one of the most entertaining champions in the game. It is impossible not to like his character. The way Warwick plays is very genuine; low-hp enemies make you lose your mind, and you start running around the map like a madman. It is funny, works unexpectedly well, and I will love it forever.

However, once we take into account everything else, the champion starts to show his limitations. He is fairly basic, predictable, and inflexible in terms of what he can do in certain situations. If you give him momentum, yes, then Warwick can easily steamroll through teams. But in relation to other junglers, he simply lacks the flexibility and potential ceiling they offer.

C-Tier

LoL Jungle Tier-list: C-Tier Picks

This is where I begin losing my enthusiasm about playing these champs as a jungler. These champs either don’t perform well enough, aren’t consistent enough, or have such narrow applications that learning them isn’t really worth the effort today. That’s not to say they cannot be played effectively, but there’s little reason for players to spend their time on them.

Rengar

Rengar is one of those champions who definitely prove the principle “practice makes perfect” true, which is precisely why I will leave him in C tier. Just have a look at one-trick pros such as NattyNatt on Onetricks.gg, who is a Challenger on EUW, Rank 1  Rengar, and has 62% win rate among 151 recent Rengar games. Clearly, the champion can be a god when played by someone who dedicates themselves entirely to him.

Nevertheless, this is precisely the issue because the amount of dedication needed to be invested in this champion is simply too great, and only a few players will ever reach a point where they have enough dedication to reap benefits from this champion.

Gwen

Right now, Gwen isn’t really worth the hassle of playing in the jungle. It’s not that she’s unplayable or a troll pick - rather, she’s just underwhelming. She requires your efforts; you make it through the early stages of the game, you get to the satisfying damage, and still don’t feel like it was that impressive compared to other picks.

I used to think that Gwen in the jungle was a great idea, but not anymore. Right now, Gwen seems extremely narrow and out of place, easily ignored in favor of other champions in pretty much all aspects. She doesn’t scale fast enough for today’s meta, unfortunately.

D-Tier

LoL Jungle Tier-list: D-Tier Picks

I’m not saying that these champions can never succeed in the jungle, but at the moment, they look too weird, too vulnerable, or just not adapted enough to be considered good recommendations. There are those who are lane picks trying to fit in the jungle, those who are just too specific, and those who simply do not keep up with the current meta.

And yeah, a few of them can still shine if you put absurd amounts of time into them. Qiyana is a good example. In the right hands, she can look nasty, but the amount of dedication she asks for is just way too high for what you get back. Honestly, that deal feels even more unfair than training champs like Nidalee or Rengar from C-tier. So sure, weird wins are always possible, but if the goal is to climb consistently and not make the game harder than it needs to be, I’d stay away from most of these for now.
