Mythic+ Dungeons Guide for WoW Midnight
-
Mythic+ turns Dungeons into repeatable endgame content with scaling difficulty and weekly Great Vault rewards.
-
Mythic+ runs are timed, and beating keys in time upgrades them. Keystone upgrades: under 20% time left = +1, 20–40% = +2, over 40% = +3.
-
Affixes are special effects applied at certain keystone levels. Breakpoints are: +2 Lindormi’s Guidance, +4 Xal’atath’s Bargain, +7 Fortified or Tyrannical, +10 both, +12 Xal’atath’s Guile.
-
Mythic+ rating drives major achievements like Keystone Master and Keystone Legend.
-
Loot scales with key level through end-of-Dungeon drops and Great Vault rewards. Crest amounts also scale, up to Myth Dawncrests at 10+ and higher keys.
BoEs, consumables, and day-to-day expenses are set to drain your gold super fast. You can skip the gold grind and cover expenses entirely - just buy WoW gold on Playhub. Best prices and secure delivery guaranteed.
Midnight’s Mythic Dungeons Overview
Mythic+ is usually the fastest repeatable late-endgame path for players who want steady upgrades without relying on raid lockout gear. In Midnight, that core idea stays the same. You get the same scalable Dungeon difficulty, repeatable rewards, and a weekly Great Vault progression loop that keeps your character moving forward even if direct drops are not perfect. Let’s go over each feature in detail.
Mythic+ Dungeon Start
Before you acquire your first M+ keystone, you’ll have to clear your first M+ 0 Dungeon. I’d recommend Dragonflight’s Algeth’ar Academy, since it is considered to be the easiest of the bunch. Once in the instance, you’ll see the Font of Power ineractable pedestal, that’s where your keystones go to tune the Dungeon’s difficulty. Click “Activate”, watch the countdown start, and pay attention to the timer meter.
Mythic+ Dungeon Goals

What differs the M+ Dungeon from the Normal and Heroic ones is the time limit you get to complete the mythic Dungeon. In order to upgrade your keystone and get sterner challenges and better rewards in the next ones, you’ll have to complete your keystone in time. Still, it’s worth noting that you can still complete the Dungeon past the time limit and get loot, but your keystone will lose 1 level, and the final chest rewards will be diminished. When doing Mythic+ Dungeons, your goals usually fall into three categories:
-
Gear progression. Increasing your ilvl, getting meaningful gear upgrades, preferably in the form of weapons and trinkets, making progress towards your weekly Great Vault - all of these make you able to clear harder content and get better rewards long-term.
-
Running specific Dungeons containing the items relevant to your build. If you’re a Hunter running a Dungeon awarding mainly plate armor and caster weapons, and there’s only 1 item you might get from the instance, is it worth running it at all?
-
Upgrading your keystone. If you run Dungeons with badly playing PUGs or you don’t know the Dungeon mechanics and layout yourself, you’re essentially losing 30 mins of your time. To actually get good gear, you’ll have to run as hard Dungeons as you can, and that includes not downgrading your keystones ever.
In M+, the time left to complete the Dungeon matters a lot. Beating the Dungeon as quickly as possible results in your keystone being upgraded to a higher level:
-
Less than 20% time limit remaining at the end of a Dungeon results in a +1 level upgrade
-
More than 20% less than 40% left results in +2
-
More than 40% left results in a +3 upgrade
This design creates an incentive for you to get better at learning the Dungeon’s layout, your skill rotation priorities, and the mobs and bosses' mechanics. You want to push the highest keystones possible, not only for gear upgrades, but for the achievements and permanent upgrades.
World of Warcraft Midnight Mythic+ Achievements
A huge part of the entire system and prestigious long-term goals to chase are M+ achievements. In Midnight, you’ll get Midnight Keystone Master for reaching M+ rating of at least 2000 and Midnight Keystone Legend for reaching M+ rating of 3000 or higher. You can check out your rating in the M+ Dungeons menu in-game, and here’s how it’s calculated:
-
You get a 37.5 rating for completing a keystone, no matter what
-
Each keystone level adds an extra 7.5 points to your score
-
Each affix adds 7.5 more
-
In addition, you receive bonuses based on the time remaining at the end of a run
Long story short, 2000 points needed for the achievement equals to you completing every Dungeon at keystone lvl 15 in time. May sound like a lot, but the feeling of completing it is phenomenal, and the mounts associated with keystone mastery are excellent.
Another achievement you should get as soon as possible is Resilient Keystone 12. The name speaks for itself - your keystones will not be able to go below +12, no matter what. To get it, you need to complete every M+ Dungeon at the difficulty +12 or higher.
WoW Midnight Mythic+ Affixes
Affixes are additional special effects applied to the Dungeon in M+ mode exclusively. They start from the +2 M+ level and scale up all the way until +15:
|
Keystone Level |
Affix / Change |
Affix Effect |
|---|---|---|
|
2 |
Lindormi's Guidance |
Players get their first affix. Lindormi's Guidance highlights and weakens certain enemies with Temportal Sands to help guide the route through the Dungeon. It also removes the player death penalty. |
|
4 |
Xal'atath's Bargain |
A rotating seasonal affix appears. Each week, one of four Bargain variants is active: Ascendant, Voidbound, Pulsar, or Devour. |
|
4 |
Xal'atath's Bargain: Ascendant |
About every minute, Xal'atath summons 10 Orbs of Ascendance that cast Cosmic Ascension. If casts go off, enemies gain movement speed and Haste. If players stop casts (interrupt, displacement, CC, purge), players gain 2% movement speed and Haste per stopped orb, up to 20% for 30 seconds. |
|
4 |
Xal'atath's Bargain: Voidbound |
While in combat, Xal'atath summons a Void Emissary that empowers nearby enemies with Dark Prayer. If players kill the Emissary in time, they gain +30% ability cooldown rate and +20% Versatility for 30 seconds. If not, nearby enemies gain increased damage and damage reduction based on the shield remaining. |
|
4 |
Xal'atath's Bargain: Pulsar |
While in combat, pulsar orbs tether and orbit players for 15 seconds. Players must soak the Void Pulsars before time expires. Successful soaks grant Mastery and Leech for 30 seconds. Missed orbs give enemies +10% damage and 20% damage reduction per orb. |
|
4 |
Xal'atath's Bargain: Devour |
Periodically, Xal'atath casts Devouring Rift, applying a shield debuff to all 5 players. The debuff can be removed by healing or any dispel type. If not removed, enemies heal for 10% HP. Removing a shield grants Rift Essence: +2% max health and +4% Crit for 30 seconds. Healing used to remove the debuff still restores missing HP (not a healing absorb). |
|
7 |
Fortified or Tyrannical |
One of the two weekly affixes becomes active depending on the week. Tyrannical: bosses gain +30% health and +15% damage. Fortified: non-boss enemies gain +20% health and up to +20% damage. |
|
10 |
Fortified + Tyrannical together |
Both Fortified and Tyrannical are active at the same time. All enemies in the Dungeon have more health and deal more damage. |
|
12 |
Xal'atath's Bargain removed → Xal'atath's Guile |
Bargain affix is removed and replaced by Xal'atath's Guile. Deaths now subtract 15 seconds from the timer. |
Lindormi's Guidance is the highlight of the entire expansion for me. It’ll ease newer and inexperienced players into the M+ system. They’ll be provided with visual guidance through the Dungeon for inexperienced tanks, allowing them to learn the mechanics and routes in real-time in-game, without using any external resources. Another thing to keep in mind is that every M+ level scales enemy health and damage numbers, starting with +14% on keystone level +3, going all the way to the +196% on +15 keystones. Obviously, if you’re good at the game, you won’t need this protection, but it’s a mini-goal that is fun to chase, at least for me.
Mythic+ Loot and Rewards
Difficulty progress is good and all, but we also want loot. And loot is what you get in M+ - with its ilvl progressing with difficulty. Besides the gear, you also get Crests of the tier associated with the Dungeon’s level. Here’s the ilvl you can expect to get:
|

As mentioned already, prioritize doing Dungeons you can actually get decent gear from. If your own key is leading you into a trash Dungeon, I urge you to try to ask your guildmates to run theirs or search for a PUG group in LFG. Who knows, you can find stable M+ buddies or even a whole team of reliable coordinated friends. You’re getting new keys from the weekly Vault, so running others is especially viable on the tail end of the reset week.
