Modern Warfare 4 DMZ Best Loadouts TL;DR
-
M4 + ISO Nightshade is the premium pairing for high-budget runs.
-
Han 86 + PPSh-41 is a great combination for PvP specifically, with a very high squad wipe potential.
-
Type 73 + X-58 Nyx covers AI-heavy objectives and boss runs and is just as decent against players.
-
KG-7 Vulcan + M4 is the best sniper loadout in the game.

Best Loadouts in MW4 DMZ
The M4 and Nightshade are the pairing I would spend Cash on first - that’s the most meta pairing that’s worth every dollar. The other setups on the list give you something more specific: a PvP kit, an LMG kit for sustained NPC and player fighting, or a sniper for covering larger distances. Each includes equipment and Trait priorities, with the attachment tables further down so you can reuse them. The best kits are:

Obviously, the weapons can and should be changed based on what you prefer to run and have on hand. If you’ve found a built Axion or Ve in your run, there’s no reason not to use them in the nest deployment to save up some cash.

Best AR Loadout for MW4 DMZ
The M4 setup keeps the rifle useful across any layout the map has. The larger magazine matters more in DMZ here than it would in a quick Multiplayer respawn match: you can spend up a portion of a mag on NPCs and get run down by a player squad in the next moment. Taking down several players also eats through a mag quickly, so the more you have, the higher your chances of winning. Using Nightshade in this loadout handles the closer pushes, leaving the M4 to do most of the shooting outside.

Trait priorities: Quick Fix and Faster Revive.
Going from the base 30-round magazine to the 60 Round Drum doubles your kill capacity. You’ll have a much slower reload window than the stock M4, though, so swap to the Nightshade if someone pushes while the rifle is empty.
The M4’s DMZ attachment listing puts the drum at weapon level 39 and KV Corsac Holo at 69. Keep an optic you already like while working toward the finished build; buying a sight you find harder to track through would be a strange upgrade.
Best PvP Loadout for MW4 DMZ
Han 86 with PPSh-41 gives you a rifle for trading with enemies further away and opening a fight, then an SMG for pushing.

-
Trait priorities: Combat Resistance and Thermal Padding.
Portable Radar is especially useful in building encounters, so try to save it for that moment. The Drill Charge doubles down on that, giving you something to do against a player holding a room, and Smoke is in the kit for an extra push/disengage tool. This entire loadout works best with a coordinated team, but you can also do some gnarly stuff with it alone.
Best PvE Loadout for MW4 DMZ
Of course, you don’t choose whether or not you’ll be fighting players in your game, but if you’re trying to target bosses, taking an LMG is a great choice. Type 73, with its base 60-round capacity, lets you keep dealing with lots of enemies between reloads, and the Nyx gives you a more practical weapon for fending off other players.

The Munitions Box is definitely worth its slot if you aim to fight lots of AI; at least one per squad is a must. Someone else can carry the Armor Box so that the supply is covered entirely. There’s no worse feeling than losing a fight just because you’ve run out of ammo or armor plates.
Best KG-7 Vulcan Sniper Loadout for MW4 DMZ
KG-7 Vulcan and M4 is my preferred sniper pairing for a mixed deployment. The sniper covers a teammate crossing open ground or helps create an opening against another squad. The M4 handles the AI, the trip between positions, and the player who gets too close for a comfortable scoped shot.

-

-
Trait priorities: Thermal Padding and Combat Resistance.
Use the mine on an approach you cannot watch while scoped, then keep checking the route anyway. A teammate watching the stairs gives you much more reliable warning than a trap alone.
The important part of this kit is what happens after the first hit. Tell the squad which target you damaged and whether they can move on the position. Repeatedly trading shots with someone who can heal behind a roof burns supplies without necessarily bringing you any closer to winning the fight.
Best Traits and Equipment for DMZ Loadouts
DMZ’s Traits belong to the Operator, so they deserve a different decision from choosing today’s grenade. Per the official FOB guide, there’s an 18-point limit and randomized Minor Traits to play with.
Quick Fix is the best of the bunch for taking down multiple NPCs and players without a need to heal in between. Faster Revive is great combined with a smoke grenade; your entire squad becomes just so much more annoying to take down. Thermal Padding is decent against UAVs. As for equipment, the question is what you’re trying to improve in your playstyle.
-
For easier revives, cutting distance and disengaging, smoke grenades are great.
-
If you’re running out of ammunition, take the Munitions Box.
-
Armor Box is great for covering your entire team’s needs.
-
Portable Radar can help you check for campers and cover third parties.
For medical supplies, the baseline is two Medkits and two Bandages, and you can definitely bring more for a longer operation. Pack your vest, a usable backpack, and a Self-Revive if available for a high-budget build.
Best Budget Loadout for MW4 DMZ
The best budget weapon option is the gun you extracted. If you can make use of it well enough, there is no need to buy a fresh gun. Free Loadouts are also useful for rebuilding your cash supplies after a bad session, since you still keep their equipment after an extraction. When building a budget loadout, my spending order would be:
-
Medical supplies, a vest, and backpack space - you probably won’t have a nice round without those.
-
A usable main weapon and ammunition.
-
The attachment fixing your biggest problem with a given gun, such as ammo capacity or an awkward optic.
-
A second weapon and the remaining upgrades if you’re willing to spend extra.
The Gunsmith opens at DMZ level 10, and repeat weapon purchases require extracting the appropriate Weapon Manual. Slot unlocks and attachments cost Cash too. Finish one dependable kit before funding several expensive alternatives you cannot afford to replace.
