WoW Midnight Delves Guide TL;DR
-
Midnight Delves are fast solo scenarios that scale up hard and take around 10–15 minutes per run.
-
Getting to tier 8 and higher is the main goal, rewarding up to ilvl 259 gear and counting toward the World row in the weekly Great Vault.
-
Bountiful Delves are your priority since they include Bountiful Coffers that require Restored Coffer Keys to open.
-
Delver’s Journey is the seasonal track: 42,000 points total, Warband-wide, and fastest when you combine Tier 8 Bountiful clears, coffer openings, and the weekly Cipher Key quest.
-
Valeera Sanguinar is your Delve companion, and Season 1 rewards include mounts, achievements, housing décor, and the Nullaeus Nemesis chase.
BoEs, consumables, and day-to-day expenses are set to drain your gold super fast. You can skip the gold grind and cover expenses entirely - just buy WoW gold on Playhub. Best prices and secure delivery guaranteed.
WoW Midnight Delves Explained
Midnight Delves are short, solo scenario dungeon-style instances that usually take around 10 to 15 minutes to complete. They are pretty easy to complete, yet they scale pretty high, and are packed with rewards and other incentives to play them. They are mostly catered towards solo players, allowing them to get gear comparable to M+ and Raid loot without interacting with players at all. BTW, for other ways to gear out your character, check out our Midnight’s fast gearing guide.
In Midnight’s Delves, you’ll complete streamlined objectives, defeat Elites and Bosses along the way, and collect rewards, mostly given to you at the very end of an instance. Delves seem to me like a perfect solo player introduction to the dungeons system, simple yet rewarding.
Midnight Delver’s Journey Seasonal Track
In Midnight, there’s a renown-esque system that takes place, named the Delver’s Journey. You can always check your progress in your Adventure Guide on the Journeys tab. The rewards mostly increase your power in Delves and provide useful utilities. You get progress by completing Bountiful Delves, and you’ll need 42000 points to complete the entire track. Here’s how the points are accumulated exactly:
-
Tier 4 Bountiful Delve clear: 50 Delver’s Journey
-
Tier 5 Bountiful Delve clear: 75 Delver’s Journey
-
Tier 6 Bountiful Delve clear: 100 Delver’s Journey
-
Tier 7 Bountiful Delve clear: 125 Delver’s Journey
-
Tier 8 Bountiful Delve clear: 150 Delver’s Journey
-
Open a Bountiful Coffer using a Restored Coffer Key: 250 Delver’s Journey
-
Loot a Cipher Key from Delve chests and complete the weekly turn-in quest: 1,500 Delver’s Journey
Each rank on the Delver’s Journey track requires 4,200 points. Completing the entire track takes 42,000 points total, so if you ignore coffer openings and only spam Tier 8 Bountiful clears, you’re looking at roughly 280 Tier 8 Bountiful completions to hit the finish line. With one character doing four Bountiful Delves per day, that works out to about 70 days across a season.
In practice, it’s faster. Nemesis encounters and opening Bountiful Coffers with Restored Coffer Keys add a big chunk of extra points, which reduces the total number of clears you need.

Delves Locations in Midnight
Delves are marked on the map with a distinct cave-style icon. They are usually placed in a cave opening, ruins, or tucked-away corridors.

Shadow Enclave is one of the easiest ones, in my opinion. It’s streamlined, mobs are easy, and you’re getting these delve-specific power-ups along the way. You’re also getting a bunch of ores and herbs along the way, which is an obvious upside. If you’re still leveling, I’d recommend getting through the main campaign and getting Delve-associated quests for extra rewards and EXP.
One important scheduling note for Season 1: not every Delve is available day one. Silvermoon’s Darkway and Parhelion Plaza will be added shortly after the S1 begins as weekly additions, probably somehow related to how the main story unfolds.
Midnight Delve Companion: Valeera Sanguinar
Brann is gone (don’t worry, not entirely), but Valeera is there to replace him. She’ll be there in every delve to fight alongside you, able to fill all three roles and level up and get stronger as you progress through more and more delves. She’ll also be customizable through the curios system, so building her out over time is a must, especially if you wish to take the Nemesis out.
-
If you’re a squishy spec pushing a new tier, spec her into healer. She’ll throw out hearts, which you’ll pick up to heal, similar to Brann’s potions.
-
If you’re already overgeared for the tier, you can choose to spec her into DPS to complete the Delve faster.
-
If you play a healer, DPS, or a Tank are all decent options.
Your best setup changes as tiers go up. The same configuration that feels amazing in Tier 4 can feel fragile in Tier 8 - mobs’ numbers scale a lot.
Delves Rewards and Great Vault Progress
The loot you are able to get completely solo in Delves is bonkers. Not only can you get gear of ilvl 259, but completing them counts towards the “World” row in your weekly Great Vault. The rewards are tier-related - the higher you’re able to climb, the better your loot is. Here’s the Bountiful Delves item level snapshot:

Of course, getting to tier 8+ as soon as possible should be prioritized. To not rely solely on Delve’s drops, you should do Prey alongside it - check out our Prey system guide.
Bountiful Delves are the versions you plan your week around. They show up with a more noticeable marker style and are built around the end chest: the Bountiful Coffer. That chest is where the real payoff lies, but it requires keys to open. You get key fragments from:
-
World Quests
-
Radiant Echoes
-
Motes of Pure Void
-
Pinnacle Caches
The cap is 600 shards, or 6 keys a week. Try to use them on as high a Delve tier as you can get done.
Midnight Delves Rewards
Of course, Delves' reward does not end with gear. There are dozens of cosmetic rewards tied to the mode, from pretty Mounts and pets to household items. A big portion of Delve rewards is sold at Delve Headquarters in Silvermoon City. There are three traders total, each selling different items,
-
Naleidea is selling primary rewards, utilitites and brand new Gravestone cosmetics for Undercoins
-
Astrandis is selling household items, cosmetics, and a mount for Voidlight Marl
-
And Stickshift is selling items, creating souls-like messages in other players' Delves
The vendor inventory changes depending on your Delver’s Journey progression - higher ranks unlock additional items.
