Nullaeus Delve Guide TL;DR
-
Unlock Nullaeus by completing a Tier 7 Delve for the first mode, then a Tier 10 Delve for the harder one.
-
You can find Torment’s Rise in Voidstorm at /way 61.2 71.2.
-
The fight is solo-focused and recommended at around item level 244 or higher for the easier version.
-
Healer Valeera is the best pick for most DPS and tank specs because she helps with sustain and dispels.
-
Your top priority is always interrupting the Emptiness of the Void, since letting it cast can end the run instantly.
-
The main rewards include the Dominating Victory toy, Nullaeus Domaneye helm, the Ominous title, the Arcanovoid Construct mount, and the Fabled Vanquisher title.
BoEs, consumables, and day-to-day expenses are set to drain your gold super fast. You can skip the gold grind and cover expenses entirely - just buy WoW gold on Playhub. Best prices and secure delivery guaranteed.
How to Unlock Nullaeus Fight
To even be given an opportunity to try your hand at killing this blue monstrosity, you’ll have to complete a tier 7 delve first to unlock the ? difficulty, and to unlock the hard version, listed as ??, you’ll have to complete a tier 10. Before you kill the boss, though, I’d recommend that you complete the Delve-related questline in Silvermoon, which culminates in you killing Nullaeus. It’s a short one, and rewards you with a toy:
-
The Season Starts: Midnight
-
A Missing Member
-
Nulling Nullaeus
Where to Find Nullaeus in Midnight Season 1
Nullaeus lives in his little cozy cave in Torment’s Rise, the Season 1 Nemesis Delve in Voidstorm. The entrance is in the southeastern part of the zone.
/way 61.2 71.2 Torment's Rise
The delve is built around one encounter, and killing the boss is the entire point. Upon entry, you’ll be warned that the first difficulty is recommended for players of ilvl of 244 and more. I absolutely +1 this, going in with lower gear and no consumes might be difficult.

Best Role and Curio Valeera Setup for Nullaeus
For most melee DPS and tanks specs, healer Valeera is the best choice and the one I run myself. She dispels dots from you, heals you up, and deals some damage herself, so I don’t see other roles as viable options. Best curios are:
-
Combat curio: Nether Entropic Kris / Porcelain Blade
-
Utility curio: Overflowing Voidspire
Any damaging combat curio will be alright, and Overflowing Voidspire provides you with a great buff for this lengthy fight. For healers, the common recommendation is the opposite. Put Valeera in DPS so she can cover Emptiness of the Void for you, since many healer specs do not want to deal with that interrupt requirement alone.
Nullaeus Fight Overview

I want to stress this right away - mechanics are not hard, the main difficulty comes from the numbers tuning. Literally, most of the danger in this encounter comes from basic melee damage, there are plenty Reddit posts about how overtuned the damage is. For DPS and Healers(I’m not sure healers can complete this encounter at all) the fight is pretty hard just due to how much damage you need to constantly soak.
The most important mechanic in the entire fight is the Emptiness of the Void cast, which the boss will periodically try to get through. If that cast fires off, you die; it’s that simple. This mechanic is especially deadly towards the end of the fight, when the floor is covered in goo and you’re being pulled in by a black hole. Here’s the entire ability list:
-
Emptiness of the Void is an interruptible cast that deals heavy AoE damage.
-
Devouring Essence is a DoT effect that can be dispelled.
-
Melee swings are a major source of pressure throughout the fight.
-
At 75%, 50%, and 25%, Nullaeus becomes untargetable, spits out floor hazards, and summons adds.
Nullaeus 75% Health Phase
At 75%, Nullaeus becomes untargetable and summons 2 Razorshell Ravagers. These adds try to pressure you with Spiny Leap and Jagged Rip, and the bleed from Jagged Rip is pretty nasty, another argument for running healer Valeera in this fight. Cleave them ASAP, you really don’t want both them and the boss attacking you at the same time.
This threshold also activates the first Void Orb. After that, sections of the arena will periodically get covered in void goop. This effect remains active for the rest of the encounter, so movement gets tighter from here onward.
Nullaeus 50% Health Phase
At 50%, Nullaeus becomes untargetable again and summons 7 Spitting Ticks. These are much easier to manage than the Ravagers because they can be burned down with AoE. Don’t underestimate their damage - I died to these little kreepers once, they can burst you down very quickly.
The bigger issue is the second Void Orb. This one creates a Gravity Well that moves through the arena and tries to pull you in. Mechanics start to layer over each other, once again, kill the adds as fast as possible.
Nullaeus 25% Health Phase
At 25%, Nullaeus becomes untargetable one last time and summons an Enslaved Voidcaster ogre. This is the most dangerous add phase in the encounter because the mob is durable and adds extra cast pressure on top of the boss fight.
The Voidcaster uses:
-
Shadow Bolt
-
Shadow Crash
-
Curse of Hesitation, the most dangerous one, is a movement debuff
Save your kicks in this phase. Once Nullaeus comes online, he’ll start casting his one-shot nuke, and if you’ve wasted it on the ogre, you’re dead. I’d recommend wasting your big damage CD, say Bloodlust, to kill the ogre before the boss comes alive. Once he returns, he’ll gain an Umbral Rage buff - it’s a 10% damage increase stacking over time, essentially a soft enrage. Pay attention to the gravitational pull, try to stay close to the boss at all times to interrupt him right away, and finish the fight.
After dying to this boss more times than I should, the main takeaway for me is that you should do your bountiful delves first, get your utility curios upgraded, and get as high an ilvl as possible. If you interrupt on time and switch to the ads whenever needed, the only thing that really matters is how good your gear is.
Tier ?? Nullaeus Changes
No new mechanics are being added at the hardest difficulty; just the numbers get even more insane. The entire fight is a gear check; even Valeera’s quests say that you need to gear up to finish him off. You can check out our Midnight gearing guide for info on how to increase your ilvl ASAP.
Nullaeus Rewards in Midnight Season 1

Nullaeus got lots of stuff to reward commited players:
-
Dominating Victory toy from the Nulling Nullaeus seasonal quest
-
Nullaeus Domaneye cosmetic helm from My Shady Nemesis
-
The Ominous title from Lighting the Dark achievement for beating the boss on Tier ??
-
Arcanovoid Construct mount from killing Nullaeus on Tier ?? solo
-
Fabled Vanquisher of Nullaeus title for being among the first 4,000 players in your region to complete the solo Tier 11 feat
Fabled Vanquisher is the coolest one, naturally creating an incentive for players to run delves. The Domaneye helmet also looks cool, I’m sure it’ll be used by many players in their transmogs.
